Been following this thread for a while and it has really been great. So much so that I went ahead and bought the TH900 in fact I just got my pair yesterday and out of the box the sound is spectacular. I'm really glad I decided to rest my HD800s and have some bass that thumps!
Not disappointed at all
They are a great trade off pair, hd800S and th900, now if I could just put the 800 down.
Deciding to get either the th900's or the lcd-2's for trance/vocal trance. Has anyone used both and can compare which would be more suited?
Cheers
I don't own the LCD-2, but I've tried it out at a couple of meetups, and I would think it's a little too "rich" sounding for trance/vocal trance. For electronic music, I actually think more neutral-sounding headphones work better (like the HD-800 or AKG K701, even if their bass isn't as strong as the TH-900).
But if you had to the choose between the TH-900 and LCD-2, I would definitely pick the TH-900. I don't remember what the bass is like on the LCD-2, but the TH-900 as you probably already know has amazing bass. The overall sound-signature of the TH-900 is also more "fun" and "exciting", which would go better with trance/vocal trance.

+1. I use to own both the LCD-2.2F and the TH-900. The LCD-2 sounded congested and narrow-soundfield compared to TH-900. So I sold LCD-2 and kept the TH-900. It is also true that the LCD-2 is much heavier. I also have TH-600 and Hifiman HE-500. I would choose either one of them over the LCD-2.
I currently have the TH-X00 and He500. LCD2 and TH900 and T1 is on my mind. how does the TH900 and LCD2 compare to what I have. what would you reconmand
Thanks, I think I'm going to save up and just get a he6 and a really good amp and call it a day. I really enjoy mids and bass, and from my research I think the he6 is overall a better headphone then the th900. what do you thinkI currently have the TH-X00 and He500. Personally I prefer HE-500 and TH900 over LCD-2. I also prefer TH900 over TH-X00. So I would get TH900 and keep HE-500.
