The what function? Never heard of it.
Neither did I, not until I came to this thread.
The what function? Never heard of it.
Speaking of the ebony TH-900, Mass is launching a drop this Friday for an ebony TH-X00.

What's amusing is the marketing talk of wood cups to solve some upper K fr issues. Just stick with th900 is my recomendation and if you finances are in order and your the mod type, go for Lawton full upgrade and get the black mahogany. But whatever, there is a price point for everyone here and they look like 900 in a black tux.
While I think they are putting in good effort to keep the product line updated, I do wonder when the final best evolution of these woodcup updates is going to be. Makes it hard to buy one if they release the next update in such a short time span. Maybe it's just me.
yeah. probably just cosmetic.

I'd think so too, never noticed any difference between different Lawton woods.
Besides, the Fostex cups are damped as well on the inside.
if you call some white floss dampening, never mind the internals, no dampening
Well, it looks totally different from the Lawton dampening material but if I remember it right AT uses the same kind of stuff, at least in their L3000.
I sincerely hope they aren't selling ebony thx00s as th900 limited editions. Dun dun dunnnn
Stock TH900 cups have that little ring going around them and the THX00 doesn't. So I don't think those are THX00's being sold as 900's lol.
