hello blue th900 fellas!

Lol, The Blues Brothers! I think there's still a few of the TH909SB's in stock from a few international vendors. I haven't tried them yet, but I hear they have a much more agreeable tonality out of the box than the TH900. Given the sound that they're going for, though, I'd think I'd end up being happier with my Verite...but they sure do look cool! :)

I agree man... they're great sounding cans but not as special as the th900
sometimes i really wish that i've got another pair of blue th900 so i can have one for collection purpose and one for listening!
It's also interesting how they tuned the blue th900 differently, they really grows on me.:)

Took a chance on the Lavricable, they did not disappoint! My go to combo for electronic music.

@kp297 this combo makes me drool... how do you like the sony with the th900? I remember trying them in the Sony store and with single end it just doesn't seemed to have enough juice with th900. I think the real magic is gonna be the balanced out?

I love the combo very much! The TH900 doesn't require much power, heck I've had some fabulous results out of Woo WA7. A popular pairing for TH900 is DarkVoice as well. Being that the DMP Z1 is my desktop amplifier, I used the TH900 with it. I don't detect any particular synergy magic with it (like Z1R or Stellia) but the combo sounds top class nonetheless.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on what the best pad swap is for the TH series?

I am currently using the Yaxi pads leather version with decent results. I also tried the Alcantara version however I didn't like it as it dulled/muted the sound far too much.

I have tried the 610 pads as well, which are good as well, but not perfect.

The pad swaps/ aftermarket pads I'm aware of are:

  • Dekoni
  • 610
  • X00
  • Lawton
  • SR-007
  • Yaxi
  • Ether
  • Geekria
  • Keep it stock and EQ?

Which one do you guys think is the best?

I have Yaxi in leather and prefer the original ones - bass with original was better 4 me
there is also more space for the ears - i habe not really big ears
mids are netter, but the th900 sound is no more avaliable

where do i get the original th900-Pads from fostex ?

I've used the ZMF Ori and Dan Clark Audio Alpha pads. Both of them significantly decrease the sharpness of the treble, which the stock pads cause to be too painful for me. The Alpha pads are the better of the two for me, making the TH-900 my go-to fun headphones now. I'm fairly treble sensitive, though, so if you don't mind the stock pads, then I think you won't like either of these two pad options.
