TH600s arrived today.  I'm going to be burning them in as fast as I can, then posting impressions vs. my LCD-2.2s on ALO Pan Am.
And then getting a second job.

Looking forward to your impressions! I have the LCD-2.2's and TH600's too, but looking for input on how a Pan Am/TH600 combo sounds for work. The HA-160D's too bulky to bring to work everyday :)

I'd also be interested.
I don't know too much about tube amps but I want to get a nice small one oneday.. The Pan Am and Wooo Audio WA6 are similar prices and both tempting, as is the WA7 that people have said pairs so nicely with TH600 (and its a source aswell). Edit: Oh the Pan Am has a DAC too...good value

Are they good complimentary cans or is it only worth having one?

Worth having both to me :) I can't use open cans at work, and don't feel like carrying the TH600 back and forth. HA-160D -> LCD-2 at home and DACPort (soon to be Pan Am) -> TH600 at work.

I haven't compared them side to side but the bass on the TH600 feels more visceral from my limited comparative audio memory. Treble is also stronger on the TH600. LCD-2's seem more detailed overall though.

should i mod it to low gain?

I don't think gain is exactly the same thing as output impedance, unless this means the output impedance will be lowered as well.

Whatever other devices you have, you should generally be able to do a Google search of what their output impedance is and then compare the sound to your Asus soundcard.
