Fostex HP-P1 Portable Amplifier and DAC for iPod/iPhone (Short REVIEW and Impressions Thread)

Don't know but i haven't seen anything that says differently, only problems when people tried.

As others have noted, Fang has already announced that it will.

By the way, even the HM801 takes 128GB SD cards so it would really be odd if its replacement, the HM901 doesn't.  I have three 128GB SD cards that I use with my HM801 with no issues whatsoever.  You just have to format the cards to FAT32.

anyone tried this with iPhone 5?

Might I just add that using the Lightning to 30-pin dock adaptor with those aftermarket shorter USB cables do not work... Even after rebooting the sound comes out via my iPhone 5's speakers and not the Fostex... Using the long long LONG lightning cable that came with the iPhone directly works however~

*Update*

Got em working.. not sure why not before hmmm...

The key is 'aftermarket' does not work. I've used both the long cable and the LOD that comes with the HP-P1 thru the Apple 30 pin > lightening adaptor and both work flawlessly with the iPhone 5.

I think I'll stick with my IPC 7G for now. I already dropped $60 on 1Phone 5 cables...The adapters are pricey...

Anybody tried the HP-P1 with the Sennheiser Amperior?

No, but it has worked great with the HD25-1 ii's, HD650's and my Beyer DT1350's. I would expect it to work great with the Amperiors...

Thanks for the reply sir. :) Can you elaborate on the effects of the HP-P1 when used with the HD25? I'm actually thinking of buying the HP-P1 then add it to my idevice and HD25 as my end all portable rig(if that exists :p). Or just get the Amperior and a better portable amp ~$300 that's better than my PA2V2.

Simply put, they pair up nicely. Firm bass, clean kids and highs and plenty of volume.....I am very pleased with the combo.

The Fostex hp_p1 has a headphone output of supposedly 10.22ohm which means going by the 1/8 rule the best match would be headphones with 80ohms+

HD-25 1-ii is 70ohms? which would be a close enough match.
DT-1350 is 80ohm I believe.
