Also a heavy EDM listener here. Rn6 was good for that but Traillii... for me... is the best so far and my favorite.
I have messaged Andrew to see if I can audition Mefisto once it eventually is available.
Has anyone tried Ambition cable with Mefisto?
Very curious what you will think of Mefisto is the bird is your favorite EDM.
@NJoyzAudio I believe has previously tested Ambition with Mefisto and may have mentioned it earlier in the thread. I could be wrong though! Either way, I’m sure he can chime in with more thoughts.
**Edit** looks like he responded right before I did!

It's good to see some more detailed thoughts on Mefisto from @Aetherhole and @NJoyzAudio.
I pre-ordered mine with the stock cable. I am not opposed philosophically to paying for upgrade cables. I actually just traded my Blue Hour 2-wire back to Nightjar for the 8-wire Synthesis which I find to be the most synergistic and complementary of the 3 "stock" cable options for Duality. That said, the price of Temptation is something I would have to navigate and based upon some of the impressions posted here, I'm not so sure that would be the right pairing for my library.
Most of my time is spent listening to complex, bass-heavy electronic music where speed and agility is paramount to articulating rhythms that often feature multiple kick drums and bass lines. I also have a significant part of my library occupied by music like Eno-era Talking Heads that features complex polyrhythms, again, where speed is more essential than vast staging (although I LOVE a wide holographic stage).
If you purchase the upgrade package, do you get both cables?
Duality with BH 2W is more organic sounding. Timbrally, I really like that pairing, but I agree 4w (and I assume the 8w) Synthesis cable are going to be better for incisive dynamic presentation. Regarding the comparison to Tempation/Stock with Mefisto, it’s not like the Synth vs Blue Hour. Tempation doesn’t reduce aggression or relax notes. There’s note weight without muddying the sound. It’s more open sounding, it’s punchier, has better grip, more dynamic, and more articulate. I think all of those things are things you value, so it’s just going to be a matter of whether or not the cost justifies the upgrade.
