As you go through your journey, you will listen to a lot of headphones. You might try some, you might buy some. Then you might jump to what you think is the next best thing.
Eventually, you will come to a point that you'll feel that everything is stale, you might even call it boring or uninteresting, and that's okay.
But through all this, there is always that one headphone that you always go back to. And everytime you hear it, it just makes you feel one with the music. It just makes the music feel alive and real. And nothing else really matters. Just you enjoying your time with your music.
Regardless of price, that is your end game headphone.
I have found my end game with stack shown in the photo, have both tube and solid state amp with several headphones thats quite enough for every genre, and it sounds really amazing to me
If end game is defined as "I am done and finished", I am not sure that will ever happen to me.
However I am much more content than I have ever been, but I still keep buying "good deals" here and there looking for something different.
The Schiit BF2 is all the DAC I will ever need.
I keep collecting amps, but honestly, the iFi Pro iCAN and the Violectric V220 are really all I need.
Headphone wise, my favourites are the Focal Clear's and the Grado GH2's. For variety I also really enjoy the CFA Cascade's, the Senn HD660S2's and the Aune AR5000's.
I have other 'phones and amps in the collection, but I could live Very happily with just the above.
But of course as long as I frequent this forum, that's probably not going to happen.
Unless there comes a time when my discretionary income just ceases to exist. Might happen in the next few years, but what are you gonna do?
I have all the amps I would ever need at this point. So in that respect, I have reached my end game - I have too many But each one is matched to 1 or 2 cans that they work best with. You just can’t have 1 amp that will drive everything well.
BMR Philharmonic Monitor speakers - $2k and if I had my choice of headphones such as a ZMF Caldera Open or a DCA Corina I probably wouldn't listen to them anyhow with the BMR's available.
I agree with a ton of the takes here and mine is really no different. End Game to me doesn't really exist.
I've been enjoying the multitude of facets that make this community enjoyable for over 6 years now. I've owned over 50+ full sized headphones in that time and the journey never really ends or gets old.
My list of what I'd still like to own is just a lot smaller than most.
I will say that I'm very content with my gear currently and only want to buy a couple more things this year.
At some point its's more about tuning preference and comfort.
I lied since I don't have the SR007 anymore; replaced by a SR009bk, which turned out to be more to my preference.
Sash très SE is still amongst my top runners and favourable headphones, though I don't use it that often anymore. Comfort wise it is beaten by Meze Elite and some others but that doesn't make the très SE a bad headphone.

Have various headphones and tubes for Riviera. Just also got the Eversolo DMP-A8 to use as a streamer.
Might add the Ampandsound Red October or AUDMA Maestro HPA1 to pair the AIC-10 to finish it all off. Have to figure out which one would pair best with it.
