Qobuz > roon > Schiit Modi Multibit > Schiit Vali 2 (mullard 6DJ8) > Sennheiser HD800S

One Deep River (2024) by Mark Knopfler - His new one released today and it was well worth the wait. This is the 16/44.1 version as the 24/192 hasn't synced with roon yet, shouldn't be long and then I'll make that one the default. It has all the traits of his (fairly) recent stuff, it's a sort of sleepy British folk rock with a strong twist of country and western. The tone of his guitars is god tier, really rich and smooth and although he doesn't have the greatest voice I could listen to him singing the phone book. The Schiit stack was connected up for this as I was more interested in tone and timbre than out and out detail and it's nicely balanced with the highly detailed HD800S, it's a very nice pairing for this kind of music.

May just edit this post throughout the day… big release day and I don’t wanna be too annoying 🙃

Neo 5 / RU7 / iPhone PM 15 / Qobuz

Sleepnet - II

One of the new projects from a member of Noisia, this is one of the most intense drum and bass albums I have ever heard. The sound design is in another universe. Kinda wish I brought my Szalayi to work today instead now. 😩 A must listen for fans of the genre, and everyone really.

Greyhaven - Stereo Grief EP
