If you're a Mile Davis fan and don't have this, get it; and especially if you're a Bitches Brew fan, this is a perfect companion, though slightly mellower as there are a few pieces bordering on ambient, with an Indian flavor featuring the sitar. It's not all sleepy though. If you know Miles, he likes to take you on rides

I must have played this album hundreds of times over the fifty one years it's been available, it's just become a part of the musical furniture and I've become a bit bored with it to be honest. So I thought I'd give it a whirl on the new HD800S and I've just sat here, transfixed, the sound effects are incredible and come swooping in from all over the place and from quite a distance too, the soundstage is mahoosive but more importantly, the music is quite superb, Gilmore's solo on Money actually brought a tear to my eye, incredible. It's the 50th Anniversary remix I'm listening to which is a 24/192 release, though I'm not sure that makes any difference, all I know is that it sounds wonderful and as fresh as a daisy.

I got it now thanks. To me it sounds more new age and ambient than modern / contemporary jazz.

It's my friend's unit at the office, I am on the fence about buying it from him. It's very dynamic and resolving, but to my ears same resolving as my Topping combo. The 3X is also sharper in the treble, for some golden and others not. Both are warm neutral setup's, with some extra low end slam on Burson. Just that upper range keeping me back, I guess I could opamp swap.

Would pay 700usd, and yes it sound very good with the T1 running balanced
