For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Started my playlist with classic albums ive added.

Album now playing The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses.

I think AWAS does great with most genres so its pretty all around imo. Not the best subb bass extension and dynamic slam though, so maybe not the best for electronic music but it got other qualities like large and weighty sound. It's a forgiving and smooth sounding HP. Voices and mids sound great. Less glare and sibilance then I was used to with HD800S especially.

Not that comfortable but i can manage a whole day with breaks and reseating.

Audio-Technica AWAS - Ferrum Oor/Hypsos - Hugo2 - DMP-A6

Hifiman Susvaras driven by the SMSL VMV P2 with my Gustard R26 working double time as DAC and streamer. This chain does a remarkably decent job with the Susvaras. I definitely like the P2 paired with them A LOT more than I do the GS-X Mini.

At the top of this morning's queue is a 2018 fusion album, Israeli Jazz by Marbin. This is one of my favorite albums by Marbin and always a solid choice for something a bit lighter when the mood calls for it. 👍😎

More then the Ferrum Oor/Hypsos with Susvaras?

I think one of the reasons the Ferrum Oor/Hypsos become so popular was on how it drove the Susvara really well.

Meze Elite drive by McChanson Ultimate tube amp is making for a special night as I end the weekend and prepare for a busy work week. Bach's late career masterpiece, Art of Fugue, is illuminating the mysteries and timeless, never-ending wonders of the universe to me. The work was unfinished, as is our journey to learn and grow. All I can do is listen, give the music my rapt attention, and be enlightened.

This one has come up quite a few times in this thread so far, so I decided to give it a try this morning. Did not regret, great way to start the day 👍 🎸
Thanks to all that recommended it.

Always looking for ways to make my dirtiest-sounding music palatable. I think this is it. Permanently solved.
I was also wondering what to do with the Koss KPH40 and the Hart Audio balanced cable I bought for it. So. Bang it on the Soncoz SGA1, and set the crispy new DAC to its slowest filter. BAM. All my MP3 320's and lower quality FLAC files sounding (relatively) real spiffy now.
I mean, try making this sound good:

Qobuz > roon > SMSL SU9 > SMSL SH9 > Sennheiser HD800S :L3000:

kenoticmetanoia.jpg

Kenotic Metanoia (2023) by Lacey Sturm - A nice surprise when I looked on Qobuz as I had no idea she had a new album out. She's lost none of her raw power, she is still able to abandon all control and go absolutely wild and there are a couple of real bangers on the album but they are balanced with some softer songs which work just as well. Best news of all is she has re-joined Flyleaf after more than 10 years away.
I finally completed my local library overhaul and converted hundreds of .APE files to .FLAC as roon doesn't play them. I also deleted hundreds of .MP3 files, replacing them as roon/Qobuz links to a very high percentage and Bandcamp took care of the ones I couldn't replace.
I'm really impressed with the HD800S at how well they cope with her voice, the RS-1x couldn't do it without getting too shouty, though she is something of a force of nature.

Various Artists compilation - 20/20 Vol. 3

Showcase for Ivy Lab’s label 20/20, their third comp is full of bass heavy tunes in the jungle/breakbeat/electro/DnB/club realm. Been waiting for some of these tunes for awhile.

No, it's most definitely not better than the Oor/Hypsos combo which remains the best pairing I have ever heard with the Susvaras. The P2 is simply an amp I picked up to replace my GS-X Mini while I'm on the road where the Ferrum stack is a bit beyond even my tolerance for practicality.

To keep things topical:

Currently, I've got the Campfire Audio Supermoons (CIEM version) running off a Schiit Magnius with an SMSL SU-8 v2 decoding the optical out from a Wiim Pro.

At the top of this evening's queue is Agusa's 2014 album, Hogtid. What can I say? This band is putting out some of the flat out best prog being produced currently, IMO. I don't think I can compliment it any more highly than that. 🤘😎

Picked up my old cheap electric guitar and marshal amp, want to start learn again. Been way to long since I tried play, skills are crap 🤣
Time to listen to some good playing instead with Polyphia.
