Shoot Out The Lights (1982) by Richard & Linda Thompson - Marriage on the rocks, kicked off their record label, probably not the best time to be thinking about a new album. Gerry Rafferty disagreed and lost £30k financing the project and was subsequently unable to sell it to any record label. They eventually signed up with a small independent label that would finance a new album as long as it was recorded as quickly as possible (think days). This album is the result and became their best selling and critically acclaimed album and though it didn't save their marriage, it kickstarted Richard Thompson's solo career and the rest as they say, is history. The album sounds pretty glorious through the Schiits and the RS-1x, it also isn't compressed to hell and back so I've turned up the volume to make the most of the dynamics.
The title song is about Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, though also generally considered as about breaking down of the relationship. https://rockandrollglobe.com/folk/did-she-jump-or-was-she-pushed-shoot-out-the-lights-at-40/ says he had converted to Islam prior to this and felt strongly about the invasion.

I love all your WA3 action of late. My WA3 is out for modifications. Your posts are making me eager for its return.

The WA3 amp is awesome for the price I paid. I kinda miss the deep bass of the Icon HP8 compared to the WA3, but besides that, I'm really happy with it. Thinking of upgrading the tubes soon since I'm still using the GE Jan 6080WC and Sylvania Jan 6DJ8 that came with the amp.

This morning, I've got Octavarium playing through the Atrium and the WA3. Pure bliss!

Deezer HiFi > SMSL DO200mk2 > SMSL HO200 > Sennheiser PX-100 (circa 2006)

The PX-100 is surprisingly good for what it is (a two-decade-old budget/portable - and a unit that's seen some hard use) but now it's time to switch things up...

The px-100 were a gateway headphone for me, nice to see others still rock them.

Still traveling with my Sennheiser HD 598. It'd be easy to dismiss these headphones as simply "bad," but that doesn't quite get at what is funky and kind of cool about these things. I think I compared them to a "leather beanbag chair" before, but I think they're also like a wood-paneled room. There's a kind of kitschy and fake organicism to them (warm with an artificially expansive soundstage). Suits their ivory-and-brown plastic visual styling. Surprisingly well suited to retro-vibes.

iPhone SE > Tidal > Mojo 2 > Senn HD 598
