The Band Plays On (1975) by Back Street Crawler - The band was put together by Paul Kossoff after the breakup of Free, they produced two albums, this one and 2nd Street which was released after his death at the young age of twenty five. He must have been at least fairly lucid during the recording of the album because he managed some stunning playing, all with his unique guitar sound and the best vibrato in rock. The Beyers are doing a decent job of funnelling music into my ears (without any bass EQ), I use the balanced pads so they don't really need much in the way of boost. Standout tracks for me are It's A Long Way Down To The Top and The Band Plays On - Kossoff magic.

Just received a pair of grado f pads(normally use g cush) and liking the return of the on-ear feel and sound.

Warm afternoon, time for some funky jazz from the 70s

The Royal Scam (1976) by Steely Dan - I don't know whether it's just a symptom of growing old or whether I am stuck in the 70's because a large percentage of what I like appears to come from that era. It's not that there's no good new music, there is, you do need to look for it though, it's not everywhere like it was back then. Some great guitar work on this album from Walter Becker, Larry Carlton, Denny Dias and Elliot Randall, the cream of the session playing crop. The obvious standout is Haitian Divorce but as always with a Dan album, all of the songs are strong and brilliantly played. The RS-1x are really good with Steely Dan music, it's well recorded, isn't congested and is generally clear as a bell - and those guitars really sing.

Changing it up again, today is the Nectar Sound Ambrosia's. Very nice headphone that does everything pretty well. Starting with the iFi Pro iCAN with bass boost engaged.

Last night I bought my second album by The Budos Band (in two weeks), their new EP, Frontier's Edge.

Steely Dan albums are some of my favorites to listen to as well. Great recordings and very well crafted, perfect for our headphones!

Gustard R26>Ferrum stack> LCD 5 > Aerosmith
Have you ever listened to a song three or more times in a row in one session? Dream on, my favorite, always brings back memories of my childhood, with my brother's old sony radio cassette player back in the 90's... lots of memories.

And this compilation album is great,
