Using my HD-600 modded (CC ring/"3" foam pad, dynamat, CC cable, more angled pads (strip of 1 micron felt under thicker side of pad on rear ear side) on my SS rig playing Joni Mitchell "For the Roses" cuts 7-11.

Weather finally broke - dew point 54, and the sound is very fine.

I've been spending some quality time with my Susvara as of late.
Normally I'd be using my speakers, but it has been nice to switch it up.

Dragon Island (2023) by Karfagen - I've been at Bandcamp again, saw this was out and couldn't resist (couldn't resist Birds or Passage to the Forest of Mysterious either), I have a real soft spot for this band. This one is an instrumental version of Echoes From Within Dragon Island. I stayed with the RS-1x for the simple reason they are perfect for this music and the DAC and amp are detail monsters, so fit right in with the Grados. My only regret is that I don't have all of Karfagen's albums on vinyl because the covers are all stunning.

After trying that one I got curious about the band, cool stuff. Loved the Messages from Afar: First Contact album.

AüR Audio Neon Pro + Cayin N7 is my go to setup for most rock or metal :100:

S10+ > Foobar2000 Mobile (Meier Crossfeed: 10/100) > Faaeal Iris Ancestor (Blue+Red)
Back to basics. In truth, I hope my S10+ keels over and dies soon since I plan on adopting a new purple flip phone. Also, don't mind the "spoiler" tag; it doesn't show much at all, especially as long as you don't think too hard about it. Also, don't mind the flickering screen. A variation of the piece from 0:00 to 0:26 found near the end of the game almost made me tear up. If I had to guess, the almost serene-like feeling produced by the strings was the cause.

西木 康智 - 狩人オーシュットのテーマ

Personal take from a separate thread: Out of all of the character motifs in Octopath Traveler II, Ochette's theme proves to be my personal favorite. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a decent recording. Her theme is generalized in terms of setting, appearing at the start, end, and in between. Yasunori Nishiki's Ochette, the Hunter, is a pleasant piece for portraying a naive, cheery, and optimistic hunter. While the piece starts off with a centered kalimba-like melody, surrounding dense strings, and infrequent piano chords, all setting a more somber tone, it soon ceases. At 0:26, timbre-y, tribal-like drums and a thin triangle are present along with the previous piano and strings—serving as accompaniment—building up for the next phase or set of instruments. At 0:34, a flute depicts the melody until 0:57, when all are combined to create a nice harmony of sounds. It is here where I believe the "magic" presents itself: the introduced choir and horn in the background. Next, at 1:32, the first phase occurs again, re-introducing the kalimba melody, this time with a normalized piano playing the rhythm and one set of drums still active. The rest of the track basically replays this same pattern until the end at 4:00, where it eventually fades. Overall, there is this unique timbre that makes it sound "jungly" or "tribal", likely because of the materials of the present instruments as well as the known rhythm.

At Fillmore East (Deluxe) (2003) by The Allman Brothers Band - This live double album was the Allman Brothers Band captured at their absolute best and features classics like Whipping Post and Midnight Rider. I chose the Grado SR325x as the weapon of choice as they seem to do this kind of rock so right and the Asgard 3 just adds a little warmth.

I love cover versions. Here is an album full of them by Dexys Midnight Runners

Let the Record Show: Dexys Do Irish and Country Soul

Kevin Rowland also released 2 solo albums of covers following the split. Both excellent 👍
