Any chance you've had the chance to check out the SR-1Bs to see how they compare to the SR-1As? If so, I'd apprecate any impressions/thoughts on the comparison. I owned the SR-1As for a couple of months, but eventually sold them because I found the way they present the low end, especially drums, to often sound unnaturally weightless in a way that's similar, but not nearly as bad, as electrostatic headphones. As a professional drummer I found myself unable to stop concentrating on that in order to enjoy the stuff that they did so well. Since then, the SR-1Bs have come out and I have heard from a couple sources that they remedy the issue to a certain degree so I'm thinking about picking a pair up at some point (I have nowhere to demo them) hence my question. If you haven't tried them then feel free to ignore my question and carry on.

This afternoon I have the SoftEars Twilights running off my A&K Kann Alpha while I'm taking a little pre-show walk/break to get in the zone.
Normally when getting my head in the right place, I pick a live album to listen to so today I have one Marbin's 2021 live effort, Shreddin' At Sweetwater, up to bat in my queue. This album is a real barn-burner full of great music played by great musicians who are clearly at the top of their game. As you could probably tell from the album's title, it has a lot of really tasty fretwork by guitarist Dani Rabin who shows that he has top shelf technical chops to go with the incredible feel he regularly displays in his playing. The sound quality on for this show is also very good, giving the listener not just clear music, but plenty of spatial cues from the venue that places them at the show, so to speak. Highly, highly recommend this album!

Note: Those of you with Grados or another pair that does guitars and live music particularly well, might want to break them out for this one.

I just listened to their new album, Existential Re-Reckoning: Re-Wired, earlier today. Their songs/albums can be hit or miss for me, but I actually liked quite a bit of the material on this album.

No, haven't heard the SR1b. I mostly listen to opera / classical, so for those genres, the spatial presentation of ear field monitors is something I can't give up, even with the well-known bass deficiencies.Any chance you've had the chance to check out the SR-1Bs to see how they compare to the SR-1As? Nothing As The Ideal by All Them Witches - Chillin' out with a glass (or two) of whisky and some stoner-rock tonight and am enjoying the mix very much. I really like how unpredictable this band is, I just have no idea of how the next track will sound. These are not "classic" stoner rock, they are a lot closer to TOOL than that - all I know is that I like how it sounds coming through tonight's chain.

Notes are crawling out of a pitch black background. I can feel the reverberations of guitar strings as they're plucked, the weight of piano keys as they're struck. Vocals reverberate into the horizon with beautiful decay.
A fantastic system isn't just filled with the price leader in every component category. Half the battle as an audiophile is pairing the right components together to create a sonic synergy that delivers exactly what you're looking for to experience your music. I can happily say, I've found that synergy

A little post-show comedown sesh in the wee hours of a Saturday morning. I have the DCA Stealth driven by the GS-X Mini with the Gustard R26 decoding all the bits and pieces from my laptop/Qobuz.
At the top of the queue is Tim Bowness album released this past August entitled Butterfly Mind. You might also know Bowness from his duo project with Steven Wilson named No-Man. Anyways, I listened to this album once shortly after it came out and remember it being nice and chill which was just what I was looking for so I figured now would be an ideal time to give this album a second run to see how it strikes me this time around.

Do the math: 2 X S (Sinatra X Susvara) = Bliss . . . . . . OK, so not so original. [Posting this as I listen to That Dog / Retreat from the Sun on Qobuz, after seeing @Elegiac's post, upstream. Groovy. Will have to track down the CD.]
