The Theory of Molecular Inheritance by Arena - I had to strap on a wooden leg and a stuffed parrot to get this as they have so far only released it on CD and vinyl, so no file downloads and it's not even on the streaming platforms - I checked Amazon Music HD and read that someone else had checked Spotify (Nope). It's all well and good living in the dinosaur age where you only release it on physical media but there are a huge number of fans like me that no longer own any spinny audio devices. I'll buy it if / when they release it in FLAC format, if at some point in the future they see commercial sense.
Damian Wilson has slotted in nicely as the new lead vocalist, even though he has a very different (higher pitched) voice to the previous singer, Paul Manzi. John Mitchell and the boys are all playing superbly and the album is very strong indeed. I've only heard it once so haven't had time to form any preferences but it is a little grittier than their past releases, possibly because the balance has swung more towards guitar and away from keyboards. I "think" it's a concept album and is something to do with genetics and if I had bought the CD with the accompanying booklet I would probably know more.
