Orgy Of The Damned (2024) by Slash - This is what you get when Slash picks a bunch of old standards, builds a backing band and has guest vocalists for all the songs. Surprisingly his guitar playing is not over the top and a lot of the time is actually mixed further back, leaving the spotlight for the vocals, though there is some very tasty blues-rock playing to be heard. Talking of vocalists, it's quite a list: Chris Robinson, Gary Clark jr., Billy Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rogers, Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Tash Neal and Beth Hart. There's only one lemon on the album, sandwiched by a fantastic Key to the Highway, featuring Dorothy and a good rendition of Born Under a Bad Sign by Paul Rogers, it's a truly horrendous Awful Dream by Iggy Pop, the guy just flat out can not sing, it's truly awful.
The RS-1x sounded superb with this album, crunchy guitars, punchy bass and vocals allowed to sound their best - happy with the choice.

Beth Gibbons - Lives Outgrown

QT-X / DC-Elite

Solo album from the singer of Portishead, with production by James Ford. He released one of my favorite albums last year with The Hum so this is extra exciting.

My love is growing for the QT-X with each passing day.

Homage > Bokeh

@rids57 That looks like an impressive collaboration of artists. Billy Gibbons is one of my favorite blues guitarists.

Enjoying his contribution to the Black Keys "Good Love" track

IMO The Black Keys albums have excellent production on the recordings. Their recent album Ohio Players has some collaborations that are interesting too with a bit of hip-hop

Finally it arrived! Had to give it a spin, even though it is hot as Hell tonight 💿😅
So no headphones, even though the HD600's are begging to be used for this one.

I'm on the Sony 338ESD, to Aune S17 Pro and then into the Tanchjim Origin, sounds fantastic 👌

After enjoying the Billie Eilish, Beth Gibbons, Slash and Intervals albums, I'm taking a dip into the 1970's for my pre-bedtime listen.....

Stealer's Wheel (1972) by Stealer's Wheel - Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan really worked some magic on this album with the classic Stuck In The Middle With You and much heavier I Get By being my two standouts. There's plenty of other good tracks on there too, Joe Egan's Another Meaning and Rafferty's Outside Looking In spring to mind but honestly, it's an album that just does best being listened to as an album rather than individual tracks which seems to popular (not with me) these days. The V222 and D7200's give the album a nice warm sound with strong bass, particularly on I Get By
