For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Track 2 is so much fun. Of course, the rest of the album is great as well. Prog metal in the same light as VOLA, TesseracT, and Periphery.

Sony hap-z1es-> Ferrum Hypsos Oor-> Abyss Diana TC

Splendid!

From this, on Miroak-II, now moving on to

Sennheiser HD 600 < Mojo 2 < iPhone SE (Roon ARC)

Vulture Prince (2021), Arooj Aftab

I'm discovering that the HD 600 plays very, very nicely with acoustic instruments. This album by Pakistani émigré, Arooj Aftab, is among my favorite recent examples (though, with a Grammy win and an Obama nod, I'm clearly not alone in thinking so). And like Empress Of's Lorely Rodriguez, Aftab also is a Berklee College graduate with a degree in production rather than in a specific instrument.

xDUoo TA-26S--->Sennheiser HD600 (good combo)
It's still an interesting amp, but it's not what I expected. I didn't do thorough homework.
Several pages on the Head-Fi thread, and I would have known better, but it turned out to be a good thing;
I got almost everything I previously wanted in the last SS amp.

It's crisp sounding and has extension in treble/mid and bass regions.
HD600 sound more exciting (bass is there now :) ), less flat...I'd rather use clear/crisp terms than just bright.

Let me know if anyone has a recommendation for tubes that would make it sound more warm and tubey.

I would recommend this little thing unless you are not exclusively looking for a tube sound.

Good article at Audiofool.reviews/ re: tube rolling of this amp.

I like the amp because the THD and bass bloat of the most extreme end of tube amps is under control. I still think the BHCs is better, but you have to build it, and one can get carried away with mods. This guy is plug and play and some tube rolling available.

But for those deciding to buy one and get serious about tube rolling, I'd say look at a Feliks Echo 2 (used if you can find one) which is clearly in a higher class than the T-26 or the BHCs - although more costly, but not by a huge amount.

One Of A Kind (1979) by Bill Bruford - His solo band before going full on jazz with Earthworks, very ably aided by Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Berlin and Dave Stewart. It leans towards the rockier end of the fusion scale and was a fine vehicle for showing off their individual talents. I'm still smitten by the V222 and am quite amazed at how much more grunt the HD800S have due to the extended and tight bottom end of the amp, it's literally making everything sound better as it matches my tastes perfectly. :darthsmile:
Agreed One of a Kind is very good. Try the earlier one - "Feels Good to Me", which has this cut "Beelzebub" which has Bruford playing time signatures I still can't figure out. He's been my favorite rock/prog drummer since his days in Yes.

miroak-II bass purrs and slams, delicacy and great physicality... Fab quality. And manages the stage so adeptly for this album, despite not being huge. So so glad I bought this!

@Leonarfd Bonneville on this album must be a killer!

Second/third sale on that iem needs to be looked at :)

This is some really nice stuff here! Been checking out some of Boris other solo stuff as well.

Good article at Audiofool.reviews/ re: tube rolling of this amp.
Thanks,
I've seen it yesterday. It's very informative.
I have Auris HA-2 SF, so I guess I don't need Felix Echo 2 :)
BHC is made in the USA, so for me, to get one in Europe would be double the price.

I am delighted with TA-26S and its sound.
It's completely unexpected; unique sounding, considering it's tube.

It always gives me extra pleasure if I get something completely different from the rest of my stuff, and this amp certainly is.

I will probably try some tube rolling on the way, or...
I am considering getting a new model, TA-66, to complement TA-26S. TA-66, as folks say, sounds more tubey and warm.
I aim for fun, fun, and more fun. It's not the chase for me.

Cheers!
