I been living with Kernel Streaming since 0.9 came out, and I have to report I am verry happy going back to ASIO. The sound to me is allot better with my EMU0404 card. Right now I am using ASIO4All just fine. I downloaded the beta becuase it states that there has been some bug fixes amongst other things.

* Support for realtime DSP preset editing
* Native support for new free Nero Digital AAC encoder
* APL support (no longer maintained) moved to a separately downloadable component (Monkey’s Audio support)
* Various bug fixes

0.9.1

* Faster Ogg Vorbis tag editing.
* Official ASIO support (downloadable separately).
* Improved compatibility with buggy soundcard drivers.
* Added DSP preset switching functionality.
* Workedaround buttons display problems on Windows 2000.
* Improved “random” button action with album/directory shuffle.
* Added WMA playback support.

Sometimes when you try to download a file from the foobar website it sends you back to the main page, if that's what you mean. But there is a new beta out for sure! Try betanews instead.

Anybody tried 0.9 w/wine? Particularly with kernel streaming?

. . .

One does not need kernel streaming under Wine for rather obvious reasons.

Weird. I just decided to try out if ASIO would finally work for ESI Juli@ + 0.9.4 combo and now it suddenly works! I don't know what have changed since the last time I tried.

I don't have to use ASIO4ALL anymore.

I've been using ASIO with my X-fi since 9.4 and everything works fine, but it's failed to load ASIO a few times, even during the middle of a paused song. Restarting foobar fixes it, I dunno whats up.

Hmm. Now when I think it more clearly it might be that it was older version of 0.9 when I last time tried it out. Maybe they fixed it for the newer version then. This is great!
