Thank you for the clarification about the warranty.

I had no idea that anything other than The Division Bell was available in hi res. I’ll need to take a look on HDtracks ...
Ah, I see, you must have the SACD. I don’t understand why it’s taking so long for Pink Floyd’s catalog to come out as hi res downloads.

In simplifying my life, I sold off my records and CDs and have gone completely to digital files. Of course, I ripped my CD collection before doing so, but alas, not my records because many were duplicated by CDs.

Yep, the SACD version but I ripped it to digital so I can stream it to my devices.

Anyone driving the Utopia with AK380? I'm debating if I should get a 2.5 TRRS cable for it.

I use a 2.5 TRRS adapter cable to sometimes drive my Focal Utopia with my little AK70 in balanced mode. It looks a little silly but works a treat!

I have over 200 hours on my Utopia and driven by my AK240SS/Mojo, I’m extremely happy with my recent purchase.

I find the Utopia to be very comfortable and have been able to listen to them for a couple hours at a time.

At some point, I’ll likely buy a Hugo 2 and upgrade the cables, but I’m still recovering from the Utopia purchase. :xf_cool:

Any recommendation for amp to stack with Hugo for the Utopia? I am currently driving it with Hugo only, and I don't think I have even tapped into its full potential. It's quite far behind what AK380 does for Westone ES60. I know one is an IEM with endgame DAP.

stax requires an electrostatic amp and LCD-4 is much harder to drive than the LCD-4

thanks for the quick answer. what do you think utopia compare to lcd4 or stax 009?
i want to try stax, but i read that it is a hard to drive headphone.

Agreed, the Hugo2 is way more than enough for the Utopia.

The Stax require an electrostatic amplifier and you can not hook them up to regular amps. Completely different implementation.

Edit: Crosspost with @jlbrach

Pretty happy with Woo Audio WA8, though curious about Hugo 2.

So then, i guess hugo tt will be more than enough to handle utopia.
I will try it with AK Kann , see if it can handle utopia.

FYI, the Hugo2 has more output power than the TT, by the specs. Some do prefer the sound of the TT and others the sound of the Hugo2. I'd recommend an audition of both if you can.

The Utopia does not need a strong amp, but the DAC section is critical, because the Utopia is very resolving and capable of showing both all the advantages and all the problems of your audio chain. Both Hugo 2 (with a good transport) and SP1000 are perfect, imho. However, I cannot imagine the KANN to be good enough.
