Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone

In the audioholics review they described the Bathys similar to the Focal Radiance. I think that would be very nice as complement for the Stellias. I listenend to the Radiance and liked them a lot. Especially the Mid-Bass boost in comparision to the Stellia is nice for on the go and not too critical listening.

Audioholics:
I get an error when I go to the review site… 800 euros sounds like a steal! I’d order them now if I could

My body is (cautiously) ready.

I sold my B&O H95s because they were not much better than my APMs at the cost of convenience and I have a feeling that these will be no different.
nevermind the focals there are already BT headphones that sound considerably better than max. I sold my APM when I got mw65.

I think this will be a huge upgrade in sound from the Max. Id bet money on it.

I'm optimistic and the price is reasonable for this high-end side of BT ANCs.

Bathys Bluetooth

Bathys is compatible with the SBC, AAC, aptX & aptX Adaptive Bluetooth codecs. Android users with version 8 or higher should default to aptX Adaptive, while iOS-users are limited to Apple’s AAC codec. Unfortunately, Bathys (or the aptX Adaptive codec) seems to limit tweaking the Bluetooth audio stream, even in Android’s Developer Options. Bathys’ implementation of aptX Adaptive is locked at 24-bit/48-kHz with no toggling bit-depth or sample rate. Although, 24/48 is still quite good, considering it's a compressed stream. Any real advantages to tweaking are limited.
Unless you're on a Samsung phone, where you're stuck with base aptX.

Very curious about these. Enjoying my Elegias at work, even moreso now that I bothered to use an EQ.

The audioholics article says this is from Focal:
Focal says: “Bathys comes from the word ‘bathyscaphe’, the first submarine exploration vehicle. The embodiment of calm, depth and absolute silence, this vessel is the inspiration behind the name of these ANC headphones.”

Curious as to how these will sound compared to the final ux3000, as that anc headphone already had a focal-like midrange tuning.

Whoever ends up posting impressions of these, please measure the earcup opening for those of us with big ears :) Height X Width X Depth in mm.
