FM Transmitter or Tape Cassete

The tape cassette will be better. FM attenuates the top and bottom of the signal during broadcast, so you lose a bit there. The cassette is a direct connection to the tape head, and you should get 20Hz-20kHz to pass through it.

Cassette will provide a much cleaner and better signal thus a better sound than an FM transmitter.

What kind of car do you have? I ask because they sell kits that work with some car radio units and the signal is fed directly to the receiver for an even better sound. This is what I did for my Vette for about $125. On the Lexus it would have been much more so I went with the cassette. Good luck.

I agree. FM transmitters are painful

I agree, tape/cassette adapter will be better.

But be aware there are some pretty crappy cassette adapters out there. I bought one that sounded like crap, replaced it with a Sony one, sound improved about 1,000,000,000,000%.

I hate to advocate buying Sony (They must be punished! Remember the rootkit!), so I'll just say try to stick with a brand you recognize, and if you get bad sound suspect the adapter immediately.

Yeah newer BMWs support a factory-installed iPod hookup that can be controlled through your on-wheel buttons and through your existing reciever.

x2 ^^
