Hey guys, new around here. Which ciem would be more suited for me, w500 or se5 ult, if I listened to mostly rock/ metal with some of the other genres in there as well? Thanks

Can't comment on those two as I don't have them, but the JH13 is excellent for rock and metal due to its clarity, balance and aggressive sound. Best to try before you buy.

I've replied your PM; but it really depends what type of sound you like. You said you like something warmer; the W500 then, between these two.

^ what jason said. W500 would save you quite a bit of cash too haha plus there's the adjustable bass switch

But I must say tho I am really digging the bass on the SE5Ults. A bass much like that of a DD in fact.

AAW finally arrived at Jaben Malaysia. I will audition the W500 end of the month. Have really big hopes for the dynamic driver bass!

The W500 AHMorph at its mid-level setting (half-power to the dynamic driver) sounds similar to the W500. In fact, I'm told that it should sound the same.

@jelt2359, I want to ask, how different is the CIEM version of the Lear BD4.2 to the universal demo version? How big is the improvement, is it worth upgrading my current universal Lear BD4.2 to a custom version?
