Sennheiser HD-650s for $215 used in the For Sale forum. Seemed like a good place to start.

MS-1; although I had a pretty good idea from reading elsewhere that MS-1 was a good bet to sound a lot like my speaker system. I did do lots of reading before buying a set however, to see if my expectations were realistic.

They were.

After that I did a study to see which phones were the best bet to succeed the MS-1 but still sound much the same. So I guess the first Head-Fi prompted set of cans would be the MS2i.

I had the Shure e5's and thought I had the end all be all in headphones. I was researching something or another and came across something called the E500 and a big headfi thread concerning it. A few hours later I placed a pre-order at a place I'd never heard of called TTVJ.

I liked them then and I still like them.

HD580 @ Amazon for $130.57

was I happy at first no not really I kept using the HD555 at the time I didn't have an amp though so I wasn't properly pushing them. I was expecting to get an amp soon after but having a hard decision. I than sold the HD555 so I was forced to use the HD580 and started to understand what made them great. I recently purchased a DAC1 as my first amp/dac lets just say I am happy.

I had already had a pair of Super.fi 3 Pros for 8 months and was quite happy with them so I can't really remember how or why I ended up here. But I did! A few months later I had a pair of E500s.

My first pair after discovering Head-Fi was the Sennheiser HD650 bought off the Head-Fi used forums for around $230, I think. At first I didn't like them, but I couldn't give them up. Just recently I've discovered that with certain amps, I'm really enjoying them now. In fact, it's my main headphones now.

Only been a member for a couple weeks shortly aftering joining I bought the Atrio M5's. Had them for about a week now and they just sound better and better everyday. Makes my metal sound that much more brutal.
