Hi everyone! I'm currently putting together a Christmas list and would like to break into or at least experience music through over ears as a change to my preference, in ears. I started at the KZ ZSN Pro 2's, a budget V-Shape tuning, then went to the Tripowin Piccolo, A budget Harman Tuning, then to the Simgot EM6L, an entry level Harman tuning. I Like diversity in tuning, I don't strongly prefer any style and am often changing my EQ between bright, neutral and dark. I listen primarily to Owl City, sort of an Alt E-Pop. But I spend just about as much time in orchestral and acoustic, as well as jazz, primarily Sax. So essentially, what I'm looking for is some help finding some good cans to let me experience the more open soundstage of over ears. For this reason, I'm most interested in open backs. I've come across three pairs that seem to fit what I'm looking for and would like advice comparing them, as well as some other suggestions.
I'm looking at the Philips SHP 9600's, as the biggest con people had when they were new is that they were too expensive, but now they retail for about $70.
I've also taken a look at the Hifiman He400se's which I've found for around $80-$100
My main interest, however, is in the Sennheiser HD 6XX as they are well recommended by reviewers and retail for the most expensive around $200 but are resold around $100 putting them in a competing price point with the previously mentioned pairs. My biggest concern is that their biggest con that I hear about is that their soundstage is somewhat narrow. Any input?

I'm aware that the latter two mentioned should be paired with an AMP, I'm looking at the moondrop dawn pro as it's pretty portable, it's viable for my iems as well, and though they won't run a pair of over ears perfectly, it's price is just too competitive to pass up.

My picks in that price range that I've had:
Hifiman HE5xx
Thieaudio Ghost (Sennheiser HD6-- series at 1/3 the cost)
Hifiman Deva Pro Wired
At auction or Hifiman refurbished (new pads) it's hard to go wrong in the price range.

I've got the Sennheiser HD650, HD600, HD700, and Thiaudio Ghost and it's such a great deal on the Ghost, uses the familiar Hifiman 3.5mm cables too. The HE5xx are so comfortable, and tuning is neutral enough not to need equalizing. If you put the Autoeq profile on the Deva Pro wired it tracks the Harman target so well it's excellent. I use a pair of those as daily drivers.
