writing a critical review is really time consuming for me. I sit there for hours picking it apart, listening to it several times daily and so on.
when I do a comparison review, its double the work. Ive spent about a month with a micro amp, and some short listening with the firestone. It would take a lot more time for me to familiarize with the friestone enough to do a truly fair review against my personal rig Ive been very familiar with. The flames don't help much either
What I can do is point out the sound signatures of the different combos, their weaknesses and gains sonically and leave it up to the reader whether or not the sound is for them. I think that would be best way to approach a comparison review. Sorry the impressions have been so short, Ive been very busy between college and basically two jobs., and feel uncomfortable fully comparing the firestone amp because its brand new, and I am not familiar with the amp yet. Since a review or even short impressions can carry heavy weight in the long run, as of late, I want to make sure I am definate with any of my descriptions.
I can say so far that both the micro stack and firestone combo are not neutral amps, but on opposite sides of the spectrum. the headroom is on the liquid warm side, and the firestone is on the fast and detailed side but not overly bright.
