How does mad24 compare to kr5 technically?
2 out of this world contenders to my ears. More a matter of taste than a big difference on technical standpoint.
Of course the DD bass has some texture that even MAD24 incredible BA bass can't match, but MAD24 are a keeper for me. Kind of a love story...

Hrm, I wonder how much of the XE6's "secret sauce" is the Harman in-ear tuning in the upper mid/treble region. The curve more or less lines up from 1khz to 10khz, even with the dip/valley from 10khz to 15khz. Only divergence is the 15k+ air, and phat boost < 800hz.

Harman IE targets on their own can be pretty shouty, but in this case seems to control while also be tempered by dat thicc bass.

I don't find the Xe6 to be shouty at all, honestly I barely even find it to be forward in the upper midrange. The peak gets mostly negated by the amount of lower mids and bass, so to me it ends up feeling like a warm, dark, thick IEM. The treble is what offers the ultimate balance to the masterpiece that's the Xe6, because of how clear detailed and extended it is despite the relatively low quantity. I've heard some Harman-target IEMs but they're a completely different animal Imo

Mine also got 3, wonder why he got 4...
Is it possible he has none installed and all three in the case? There are three sets of holes in the case makes me think none installed is an actual planned option?

Listening to XE6; chamber, Mediterranean cello and percussion, opera female vocal, than EDM this morning. The upper mids and treble of this set are very revealing. No veil I can hear, crisp detail. Overall the set still comes off to me warm, bass and lower mids influence I guess. Still find it coherent though I do think that there is a clear difference between the way the lower sounds vs the upper frequencies. Think that is part of the magic here.

Yeah, traditionally Harman targets end up shouty or shrill. While others IEMs with that big of a boost starting from 600hz down end up being really muddy/slow. The combination of the two in the Xe6 is what I think makes it so unique and so good with both parts that are lacking on their own balancing each other out very nicely when combined.

That is quite weird harnam curve? Is that some sort of recently updated one?
The one im familiar with is gradually rolling off from 3-4khz up.
@tgx78 what is this blasphemy? 😆

I believe it's the Harman in ear 2017 target. The "smoother" ones that you might be referring to are the headphone/over ear targets. Here's a version of all of them overlayed that I found on the internet.

Love seeing all the feedback here about how FiR's TOTL lineup is doing.

The VxV is my most used IEM in my set-up currently, and I love every workout I get with it!

Having a kinetic bass CIEM is one of my next audio goals in life!
