Final Fantasy VII Remake

No doubt that FF7 deserves the remake the most! I was around. I played it and beaten it maybe 50x :) Master it!
Im a JRPG fan played about 27 titles. Beaten them all.

But wait a minute lol. Star Ocean is sick! StarOcean 1 was on Snes game! Star-ocean 2 was a legendary title. Starocean 2 needs a remake still.

Only Square-Enix titles thou...

Metal gear 1 is great. But I consider Metal gear 3 a masterpiece. But Konami and kojima are not in good terms ATM.
Metal Gear solid 1 is my favorite of the series as I think the characters were perfect. I know they did a HD remake for the Gamecube, but looking at the FF7 remake, they can do much better.

I didn't think anybody else played Terranigma besides me. Pretty much the type of jrpg I would never get sick of. Just really well thought out with the puzzles and everything. I wish developers can make more stuff like it. Why does it seem like 90's was the golden age of japanese vid games? 90's was the golden age of japanese everything it seems.

Put this song on repeat and the game is next to untouchable

Ha you speaking my language now! The greatest JRPG game, story, combat, of all time! They wouldn't dare!

Even cloud knows better!

That was such a great easter egg! Xenogears was my first true RPG experience. Loved it from the moment I fired it up that Christmas night! I still play through it and FFVII every few years. I am due for both, as it has been too long.

Where is that in Solaris?! Never saw that or even heard of that Easter egg!

Well you talking to a Xenogears expert :)

Yes, its from Solaris. 2nd class citizen house
One of 100 best scenes and areas of this masterpiece game.

There is 3 games that respects Xenogears.

Lunar
FF7
StarOcean

Xenogears respect:
FF7
Chrono Trigger
Most Sci-fi Books and Movies
Ancient Egypt
Kabbalah - Alot of this. God-damn! -- And this is one of the main reasons why this game was complicated.
Power Rangers
Gundam
Anime
Bible
Darwin
Mythology
And over 100 other things....

I realize there is no such things as Easter Eggs in Xenogears. it is impossible to name them all. If there is a count. I will say over 100 Easter eggs. Thats just too many to be easter eggs. Its more as an artistic respect.

Hi Lucca from Chrono Trigger!!

I do remember hearing about Xenogears starting out as a concept for a Final Fantasy. Definitely did not know about the other games having references hidden, though. You talk about it being complicated, what threw me off the most was in the last quarter, how it was just so dang rushed. Your fighting a bad guy in an underground labyrinth, next thing you know, your in the sky with a new mech or so. Them having to cut out so much, just threw me through loops. I could never understand why they did that! I think it wasn't until several years after I first completed the game, when I found out it was supposed to be something like a 4 game series and they just smashed it into one in the wee hours of development before release. Crazy the stuff you learn years later about beloved games. Makes we wonder if the complete game would have enamored me as much.

Don't forget Hong Kong cinema. We had lots of golden stuff. I think that's why I'm just disappointed with the arts this day in age. I think people focus too much on social media, and no real creative arts are being displayed in the mainstream these days. Well, I guess the golden age of Hong kong cinema was really in the range of 80's to 90's.

@Mizicke5273 - First of all I love both Disc 1 and Disc 2. Disc 2 was a work of art in my eyes. Maybe I am a fanboi but god damn it was an emotional and epic ride.

The complete answer on the 2nd Disc
Tetsuya Takahashi - “Honestly speaking, what had happened is Xenogears as a project was staffed pretty much entirely out of new staff members, young staff members,” said Takahashi, speaking through a translator. “Back then, we had the direction of, ‘All projects take two years and that’s when we need to get it done.’ So on top of developing the game, we had to nurture and teach and grow these younger employees. Things like 3D were extremely new, which led to some delays in the schedule. It just wasn’t possible to get everything done.”

As it became clear that Takahashi and team weren’t going to hit their deadlines, Square’s higher-ups suggested that they just end the game after the first disc, when Fei and his team escape from Solaris.

Tetsuya Takahashi - “It was a rough way to end it, and I felt like if we do that, then the players will not be satisfied,” Takahashi told me. “So we had a proposal—I proposed that if we do disc 2 in this way that it turned out to be, we can finish the game with the current number of staff and the current time allotted for the schedule and the remaining budget we have.”
So they turned disc 2 of Xenogears into the montage that shipped with today’s game. Instead of playing through events like the world’s mutation and the search for Fei, you just have to watch them. And it was Takahashi’s decision—so he could finish the story he wanted to tell rather than cutting it off after the first half.

“I do think my decision was the right one to make,” said Takahashi. “Because if we had just ended at Disc 1 it would have been bad.”

Btw I can see Tifa as Fei's lost granddaughter. Similar fighting style. But of course Fei is DBZ goku crazy, lost his marble lunatic drunken style that needs to chill out.... lol.

Most likely Game of the year for 2020

There's a bunch of gameplay videos shown off at the TGS 2019. Looks very promising, at least for my taste. Pretty different game from the original, which is good as I wouldn't want a replica with just updated graphics.
