Just recently purchase second hand A8000. Very good IEM Indeed.
Impressive imaging and staging for an IEM.
No slouch in detail and resolution department too, but not the most detailed IEM I ever heard.

So which IEMs have your heard that have both greater detail AND better imaging and staging?
I never said there are IEM that has a better detail AND better imaging and staging.
I said it is not the most detailed, there IS IEM for me that have better detail, that's all.

Let me guess the answer: Sony IER-Z1R

edit: Made the guess before looking at the sig I swear
If it's the answer, then I know plenty of other iems which are more "detailled" (all bandwith) and "technical"... including the A8000's

Actually not Z1R, Z1R is on par with A8000 to my ear.
Effect audio Gaea, Anole VX are more detailed to me.
But Gaea doesn't has as good imaging or staging as A8000 has.
And anole as a full BA setup doesn't feel as good as DD set like A8000 for me.

I was half-jokingly making that guess because I do think the Z1R has better "staging" for sure. That is its one strength. Everything else is worse than the A8000 though (maybe except imaging, could argue for that one too).
For me, they are on-par, maybe slightly better soundstage height for Z1R, but it could be eartips issue with A8000 for me.
But personally I always prefer single DD over hybrid.

Ok thanks :beerchug:

"More detailed" ?

Medium ? For instance ?

In what way?

This is a real question, since I know the Vx's (not the Gaea).

Yes, the fitting must be a real issue with the A8000's. Totally true.

The best results I've had have been with the Xelastecs. But they are not durable tips.

On the other hand, it did not work with my Canal Works "cat paws". Who are my reference tips (see my signature), by far.

That's why I didn't make these A8000s my own. I was tempted but...

Then I content myself from time to time with listening to the pair owned by one of my dear friends (here : @lafeuill ). But these are earphones that I know very, very well.

In the mid especially, It is clearer and sometime I could hear sound that I couldn't hear on A8000.
But it is not that much that warrant me to buy anole. Also anole has BA timbre and of course the price.

Yeah, I still tips rolling to suit my ear better.
I tried pentaconn coreir, it is very good, but it is hard for me to get proper fit.

I have loved my Final Audio B3 a lot. It has amazing tuning. I am getting a B-stock A8000 for nearly $1100. There is a 3-month warranty on it. I'm just wondering if I should pull the trigger on it. I know Final IEMs are built like tanks and will last forever. I'm just a bit worried if the excess of brightness will be an issue. But I know that can be tamed using foam tips, good copper cables, eq etc. Suggestions.

The ... Pure silver ... Dunu Blanche cable is just an amazing pairing.😎

The good silver cables are silky and very refined, not edgy or aggressive. Believe me. 🫶

About tips, Xelastec for me : it takes a little the treble but not the general clarity 👍
