Actually James I think you are correct with this - and I for my part apologise because I haven't been able to help much simply due to bad timing (we've had our largest customers here, and are in the middle of budgets).  Another time of the year, and I would have been able to give proper feedback.

For a roll out like this - a dozen testers, using an app like "Slack" to discuss and give feedback on each iteration, and I think you'd achieve a pretty decent upgrade in around a 2 month window. But don't be discouraged.  Within 4 beta releases you have already made huge strides, and it has been pretty stable for me.  In another 2 weeks I can start giving you some decent feedback.

I think we many need about 100 tester cause it is impossible to check out all the bugs by only few people.

@JamesFiiO I think the firmware is getting close.  I can finally use my X7 without the Google Play Services has stopped bug coming up every few seconds like in FW2.0.  For me once the issue with large capacity storage devices is fixed it will be a great DAP.  Finally starting to love this thing with my AM3 module.  Thanks!

JamesFiiO, my x7 is randomly crashing to an unresponsive black screen. Usually when it has not been playing anything for a while it will play briefly then stop, or more commonly I come back to a black unresponsive screen. Only fix is to hold power until I can hear the click that it has shut down (through earphones) and then power it up again (and of course let it power on twice Becuase that is the bug) .

Any idea? This is a newish development. Happened maybe every couple weeks, but now I am getting it almost every day.

Hi I did the update(4.0.4) after the scan to load files from the SD card was very slow to start, when the scan was finished my music files were in the library but now when I play the music tracks some files are causing an error an exemption has occurred and the application will close . The files played OK before the update.

That on you website?

sorry it is my fault. 2.0 is the lastest officail version ( there are not beta firmware but it is not stable as 2.0 ). you can try to double reset the X7 to clean all the database.

  Hi, karloil
Sorry for making confusion.
Maybe you are meaning that post: http://www.head-fi.org/t/822149/the-public-beta-firmware-of-android-5-1-for-fiio-x7-is-coming/120#post_12957558
We won't release a beta firmware in there any more. The later beta firmwares will all be released in this post: http://www.head-fi.org/t/822983/official-x7-beta-firmware-android-5-1-download-and-discussion-thread-fw3-0-3-beta/30#post_12957400
We will change the title of it when new firmware comes. Thank you for your kind feedback.

@FiiO

You had to have a internal meeting from time to time! James just released 3.0.4 in http://www.head-fi.org/t/713735/fiio-x7-dxd-dsd-384k-64b-ess9018-android-wifi-bluetooth-4-amp-modules-balanced-out/14970#post_12969323 when you mentioned that later beta firmware will be release in http://www.head-fi.org/t/822983/official-x7-beta-firmware-android-5-1-download-and-discussion-thread-fw3-0-3-beta/30#post_12957400

Hi, karloil
Yes, you are right. There are 3 threads we released for X7.
This thread is for users to discuss about X7.
---That thread is telling users we have updated X7 to Android5.1. We only released FW3.0beta in this thread.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/822983/official-x7-beta-firmware-android-5-1-download-and-discussion-thread-fw3-0-4-beta
---The following beta firmware will all be released in that thread.
Sorry if bringing inconvenience. But head-fi forums doesn't have the function to delete or merge threads by now. We will read all the feedbacks from this three threads and try to improve the firmware as soon as possible. And we will also inform the users in three threads when a new firmware comes.
