Please forgive me eventually, but the uglyness arguement or if you like, over-obsession with surface looks sounds rather shallow.  If your eyes put you off buying an excellent sounding rig, maybe one should re-evaluate one's interest in this persuit of sound nurvanna.

Lets not be children, if you dont care how it looks like maybe you are better of with a custom amp in a prototype box...

Look and feel is VERY important, you should know that placebo effect is a proven fact too.

I want not only listening pleassure, I want to please my eyes too - I will gladly pay to please my eyes.

With women you would have same approach? I doubt.

There is no problem having both - sound and looks.

If i have another dap looking much more better but sounding same good... yeah, I will for sure leave this one and get one that is better looking.

All in all I think that making it looking top notch is a smallest part of investemnt.

As for women, looks are a very minimal part of my choice.  My wife has a sultry voice.  I don't believe in the plasibo effect.
Sound is all that matters to me.  I've heard criticism of the look or shape of the AK-240 for example, but it's selling quite well,N'est pas?

i take no issue with how people select their mates, let alone with how they select their consumer electronics. i concur that SQ should be the first consideration, and like the "turn it all off/pure signal" button idea, which could be enabled as a first-level menu function in the UI or even a dedicated virtual button to spare the costs of a physical button.

i am not a big fan of bluetooth for music, but having discovered the joys of setting up a stereo pair of powerful speakers 6-10 feet apart in outdoor settings, i've also witnessed the hazards of laying lengths of cable in outdoor settings with foot traffic. settings like the beach have so much ambient noise that the SQ difference is less significant and the lack of physical encumbrance/convenience that BT presents becomes more significant.

my idea of embedding two bluetooth transmitters and thus allow signal multiplexing and especially stereo pairing (left channel to one BT identity, right channel to the other BT ID) would be a notable innovation differentiating the x7...and if there's any subset of people more likely to want to use two high quality bluetooth speakers in a stereo pair compared to just one, it's going to be audiophiles.

convergence can be innovated upon without compromising SQ.

I can not believe, nor can I imagine that a wireless connection can access the needs for "high-end" quality properly.

Because here was written from bluetooth channel for the left and for right channel and so i thought it is an audio signal. A connection to a source is another cup of tea, that's wright!

Well, I look at everything and better, is BETTER. Top notch build without good sound is not acceptable, its obvious. But making device looking cheap and ugly is a bad idea.

When you made nice present at xmass I bet you wrapped it in nice packaging...

So end words: if SQ will be high end, let then the packing be high end too! So it blows not only ears but eyes too!

i'm not entirely sure what you're saying here, but it appears that you are contemptuous of implementing bluetooth at all in the X7. if that's the case, that is your right.

however, if you wish to assert that "using two bluetooth speakers as a stereo pair is no better than using just one speaker, it's all a waste of time from the 'audiophile perspective'", than i utterly disagree. like i wrote in previous posts, there is a leap in SQ from using two speakers compared to using just one, regardless of the signal source. that leap grows much larger as the speakers get better.

BT is not just for use in cars...some of us enjoy a social life in outdoor settings with groups of people, and personally i'd love to have a portable audiophile DAP that allows me to enjoy good IEM's traveling around NYC but that also allows me to set up an impromptu party at the beach or park or parking lot, and i've learned the hard way that running cables outdoors is an encumbering hassle...the benefits of which (better sound quality compared to BT) are often mostly washed out by significant environmental noise. furthermore, i find people regularly delighted to actually experience a "sound stage" in outdoor settings, and single speaker-units can not accomplish that.

there is no gatekeeper for membership in the audiophile club, there is only a consensus on wanting to hear things with high fidelity to the source material.

Sorry for getting emotional :o) , Im quite exited about this project and just trying to make sure its will be more than just awesome. SQ is not everything, superb case finish, sapphire glass for screen etc... its just things that add up to a very high end product.

Even one ugly detail can spoil the product!

I strongly disagree. SQ is almost everything!

Well, I look at what I can.
I'm board now.  I can't perceive this thread being useful much longer since I'm willing to bet the X7 is almost chizzled  in aluminium now.
Unsubbing.

Well, then you would be in the "masses" croud ;)

Please - PRO version for demanding people.

Respectfully, we've heard your point. Again and again and again. FiiO will do what FiiO will do.

Well, also respectfully, all I can say is, I'm glad you have had nothing to do with the development of the X7. SQ is not everything!!

The more I read this thread the more I'm tempted to just buy a Shozy Alien!!
