Ummmm... I've been listening to the DX100, and I stand corrected.  ES9018 the non-mobile version could be good as I'm blown away.  It's extemely realistic sounding.  I'm not sure about doing dual as the single chip has 8 channels, and that should be plenty.  Please use the non-mobile version of the ES9018 if you can make it slim as the DX100 is too bulky.

Yes the ESS9018 is very very good. I'm loving the presentation in the HA-1, it's just so real. The X5 is great but the implementation of the ESS9018 in the HA-1 blows it away. If Fiio can implement the chip in a similar way it would be amazing for mobile. There is absolutely no reason for the dual DAC ESS0918m, and it may be more difficult to manage, space considerations included.

Dual DAC system similar to the AK240 (Maybe release a limited X7s with this feature)
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Open source or release a dev kit for developers in the hifi comunity to make applications. Closing the system will make it safer but progress will be slower.
Built in storage options: 32GB, 64GB, 128GB (Maybe even add extra features to higher memory versions. Dual DAC and faster Processor to name a few)
Faster transfer rate. Currently the chip set on the X5 only transfer at about 5-10MB.
Bigger battery.
2 Micro SD slots
eFAT support.

Yes, please, a FAST transfer speed.
128 GB of music delay a day to transfer from a computer to the mp3 or microsd (the Extreme Pro from Sandisk help a lot now, but only with 64 GB maximum).

I was impressed by the SQ,size, looks and the unbelievable price of the x5.What irritated me though was the useless and clunky ui and the fact that it takes a huge amount of time to navigate through it.I'm dying for a touch screen. And it would be nice if I didn't have to spend a painful $200 on 256gb storage. It should have at least 128gb in flash.I'd spend up to $800-900 on the x7 if it had these features with even just a marginal increase in SQ with an Android based ui and BT,WiFi connectivity. Usb would also be a nice touch. Also optical and coaxial (as mentioned) with at least an 8 hour battery life.

As a very happy Fiio X3 owner, keep up with the firmware updates that actually work properly, along with your excellent build-quality. Oh, and make it look like a mini Astell&Kern AK100 for $200 less, please. :D

As Carlson said:

Dedicated folder for audio books, so we can drop audio books there, without worry of those files playing within an all-songs sort.
Within audio book folder, memory of last track played (just like the X5).

This is also my wish.

I just sold X5 because lack of "hold" button.
Please include "hold"(a slide, on/off - locking all buttons) button in X7.

sorry not, the power bottom works as hold bottom. did you find any smartphone has hold bottom ?
