below is our plan:

trial production: 200pcs, for review and tour, and all kinds of testing.

first batch: 500pcs, 100 for our VIP customer in China, 400 for customers who registered in our website.

second batch: 1500pcs, only for China in case there are any quality issuces need to recall. of course, I don't think we need to do that. but it is our first DAP based on Android and it is too complex. and too many new features, new techincal and new components.

the thrist batch: for global market , and should before X'mas.

Perfectly logical. Let the Chinese buyers be the guinea pigs

After the show in Guangzhou, we will present some show in other country , one is the show in Toronto, Canada. we will contact our agents to see how can we arrange more demo unit.

That's great news. Glad to see X7 shown in Canada. Too bad I'm 4376 km away on the other side of the country. Hahaha!

Spare one of those X7 for a North American tour?

I'm glad you're taking your time on this.

Hi James, that is a great news!  Thank you for the update!

Just curious if there were any changes between trial production and the first batch?

So the X7 will be shown at TAVES. I would assume through the Headfoneshop.

You going to be there? If so make sure to give us some impressions! :)

James posted this shell of balanced amp module, a while ago.

One thing about the orientation of the RSA receptacle - the tab location will be fine for those with straight plugs - but those with 90 degree plugs will have a hell of a time pocketing it as the 1"+ termination will be perpendicular to the surface of the DAP - am I missing something? Or can that be rotated?

Actually straight plugs could be a pain as the length of the DAP will be increased by over an inch until shorter RSA plugs can be manufactured....

we have made some balanced cable which one side is MMCX and one side is EIAJ RC-5204 ( RSA ). and sorry we can change the design cause the size limited the orientation of the balanced socket.

Thank you for being responsive - we'll figure it out - I could see that it was rectangular and not a square so space was at a premium...

(How about a 2-pin as well!)

Reggie, I think you will be OK with Craig's modular Whiplash cables and straight RSA connectors

The RSA doesn't come in straight plugs, those straight ones that you see are modified by cutting off the longer portion of the L shaped part. So your concern is really serious and legitimate.

Yea, I also don't see any additional room for you to reorientate the plug. For the balanced cable that you plan to sell, can you provide it with the modified straight RSA plug?

Definitely a 2-pin option too!!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but X7 module with a balanced wired RSA connector was intended for a high power amp module.  2-pin connectors are used mostly with CIEMs, which tend to have higher sensitivity, thus you want to keep them away from high power.

In my opinion, considering a significant share of the market with 2.5mm balanced connectors (thanks to AK DAPs) and all the aftermarket replaceable cables already made with 2.5mm connector, it makes sense to include RSA to 2.5mm balanced adapter.

I haven't seen anything but the AK with the 2.5 TRRS and as noted, they are terrible. The Kobiconn is very easy to work with and holds up extremely well. I have some Whiplash TWau terminated with the Kobiconn and that would be my choice. The crosstalk on the 2.5mm TRRS is also terrible. Though not much better the 3.5TRRS would be a much better choice for crosstalk and durability. It isn't hard to find a 3.5 that is non magnetic but most all 2.5 TRRS have a central (L channel) pin made of steel due to the need for the 2.5 not to break easily.

I'm pretty sure twister6 isn't talking about the superiority of 2.5 or Kobiconn, simply noting the logic in reaching a wider customer base by including an adaptor.
