Hi everybody,

Just a quick question. Would the AM0 amp allow me to run USB from my X7 to my Mojo? Seems like a cheaper way to reduce the X7 footprint for transport purposes. I'm assuming it would need to be OTG. I'd like to compare the X7 with Mojo transport against the X7 with the AM3, which I love.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Nqstv,

The USB Audio function of the X7 is only compatible with some devices currently. We're still improving this function.  The AM0 will support the USB collection with Mojo after being improved as well .

Best regards

Hi @FiiO

First scenario.

Thanks.

Dear spetrushin,

It seems some problem with the battery of your X7. Can the X7 be charged in power off status? When did you buy the X7?

Best regards

I'm under the impression that it may matter what you've got attached at the end of the cable in terms of headphone ohm rating and how that may affect the amp module. I mainly use Shure 846's and I can hear RF noise using an AM1 or either of the AM3's I have access to, balanced or single ended. It's minor but present from the X7s wifi active and much more noticeable with a phone using wifi or data placed right along side it.

It's a little disappointing as I've never heard this happen before with any of my DACs or previous DAPs.

Anyone tried the X5iii for this issue?

I have an x7 and an x5iii, I notice it with the x7 in the UK but not over seas, different RF etc frequencies? I've not had any problems with the x5iii in the UK or over seas.

Thanks for that - not a deal breaker with the X7, just irritating and a little short sighted from FiiO.

Not sure if that quite justifies me buying the X5....?

I just received an email from Fiio concerning the AM3.

Hi, good day to you.
Kindly be noted that, the IC used on the module AM3 more easily gets EMI interference from wireless devices, such as the router or your phone. But based on the advantage brought by the OPA1611, we can not find other chip to replace it temporarily. Because it will influence the whole sound style. Therefore, we decide to keep using OPA1611 for the AM3.

Actully, we already took some mensure to improve the interference noise. And now, the noise level drops to about 10uV.

Ok, we have to admit that, the noise level on the AM2 is lower, and about 6uV. However, pls be noted that, the ouptut level of the AM3 is about 4.5V, which is higher than AM2( about 3.1V). It is not easy to get the low noise level when the ouptut level is comparatively high.

Anyway, we will also keep making more tests, and hope find a better way to lower the interference noise on the AM3 further.

But at present, we are afraid that you may try to turn off the WiFi, if you think the emi interference sound influence your listening the music.

If you have any other question, please feel free to contact us.

Have a nice day!

Best Regards,
FiiO Customer Service

Thanks for posting that up.

Well at least FiiO aren't in complete denial about it.  I would like a quick note from them about how to use streamed music services using my AM3 and with wifi turned off...

You're beeing sarcastic, Sarcasmo

I wasn't aware FiiO had actually done something about AM3 interference, I guess in some of the latest beta firmwares? don't remember a mention to it.
Also a bit weird for me is people referring this can happen in one region and not in another??!! I always thought this interference was short in range (distance) from nearby smartphones, wifi access points or similar devices.

The be fair, in terms of the issue being short range, that's been my experience.  The main issue here though is that FiiO are marketing this device as a DAP that has streaming service support and that means using the built in wifi, which is about as short range as you're going to get(!)
They should have at least protected the device from itself in terms of emi shielding.

  Dear ryu2012,

According to your discription, it seems your APP doesn't support music with high sampling rate?

According to the feedback from most users, they would prefer no SRC in the third party APP. So we have no SRC in the third party APP.

Best regards

OK Fiio.
Please listen to how much distortion of AIMP it was recorded.

I recorded from the analog lineout of X7 via PC USB audio interface, but it is the same sound even at headphone out.
All FiiO Music and AIMP equalizer are disabled.

AIMP has no problem with smartphones, but it gets distorted in X7.

Hi @FiiO

My device is new, less a month of light usage. It can be fully charged.

Please check the video - https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=0fTmfr_2Ls8
1) After I disconnected the player from the dock it started automatic shutdown. How I can disable that behaviour?
2) I pressed the screen few times, countdown popup is disappeared  but the player is still powered off. Guess here is a bug, and shutdown should stop if I pressed screen few times?

I'm using 3.1.8 beta firmware.
