hope they can add it in next update
I wouldn’t get your hopes up...
Neutron users have been banging the “UI UPDATE PLZ” drum for quite a while. and we get nothing. in the face of PowerAmp which has such a fluid (maybe a little convoluted) UI, it’s a shame. also the latter doesn’t support Hi Res currently. On a beta release years ago the X5iii did and then it got nixed. Weirdly I can get 16bit(?) 192kHz playback out of the headphone output with PowerAmp but it immediately switches over to OpenSL ES 16/48 resampling if you try the balanced output or line out.

Here's a question I'd like to ask the 4PDA folk regarding Neutron, audio delay, and its spectrum analyzer.
But of course cyrillic isn't in my wheelhouse.
It's a shame because 4PDA is the best resource of documentation on Neutron on the web.
Not even Neutron's own forum covers as much.
I experience noticeable mismatch between the audio signal and the spectrum analyzer's display.
The attack of a signal is displayed visually just prior to the audio signal reaching my ears.
Thinking it might make a difference I've installed the "Neon" (?) version on top of the google play store version and there's almost no transparent information on what that accomplished.
I'm sure delay depends on a number of things not to mention the source file and DSP's active, but there's settings under audio hardware for "hardware delay default 140 msec" and "software delay 20 msec" . Up top it shows Latency 371 (min: 92) I'm thinking this is in msec too?
Do I have any hope of getting this synced up or is this mismatch pretty baked in?

This is outside my (limited) field of competence, so had to ask prispewnic for his thoughts. Here are his recommendations:

1) Set both Hardware and Software delay to 5ms
2) Turn off all effects and EQ to test
3) Set screen refresh rate to 60 frames or more

Let me know how you get on :)

jkbuha, thank you again for opening the video stage in our player's life. NewPipe is an extremely useful tool. Is it even better ?? FlyTube is weaker and OGyutube disappointed. Very juicy sound, I wonder what reverb Youtube uses on such a terrible sound compression.

Could you run a dumpsys media.audio_flinger when playing a video stream? Curious to know what bitrate you're playing at...

For both video - webm or mpeg4 formats, mp4 audio, PCM 16 bit 44.1 kHz for all video resolutions. Sound undisturbed, good recordings are in good quality. The video could also be switched to full screen - without tearing and stuttering.

Hello to everyone, someone stole my loved X5III, now I have to buy a new dap, do you think that is better to buy an M9 or another X5?!?! My best target is the sound quality!

1. Without a paid app for Google Play, it's a dead end - FiiO probably learns from Apple and its trading policy
2. Firmware will ripen again for 2 years
3. To recommend a reviewer on the M9, which was the only one to answer, I would rely only after the final lobotomy.
4. If you have a DK1 or K5 dock, you can forget it
Detto M11, M6, M7

You've already asked this question on M9 forum - you don't have time to look and read all the complaints - it's just 127 pages ...
AptX HD and LDAC are good choices, but in addition to SHURE for $ 150 no bluetooth cables with these codecs.

I don't even want to look for a Sony variant

Thanks for this amazing work, now I fully enjoy my X5. I hope one day you can do something similar for the X7 that needs improvement too. Thanks again for this work!

Good observation, I'd like to play around with the X7 to see if it can be improved by the same degree as the X5. If anyone has an unused/unloved X7 that they'd like to donate/sell PM me - I'll then get onto FiiO to get the source code for the X7.

Any users of Beyerdynamic 770, 880, or 990 pro (or edition) headphones alongside an X5iii (on its own) that can chime in on synergy or compatability?

I'm looking to get my dad a secondhand X5iii and a pair of Beyers in that line. He works in live music/concert environments and has used Beyer monitors/headsets, so he's got an affinity for them.

I don't think he's gonna be willing to use an amp with them so I'll end up seeking out a 32ohm variation. But if anyone has account of the 250 ohm being usable (on high gain) with good results maybe that will do too.

I have Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 32ohm and can play it on my Fiio X5III at around 64 volume on high gain. The DT 990 250 ohm is quite comfortably loud enough around 78/79 for me
