Hi,
after successfully installing FW 1.31 I updated the library. But if i now choose anything under "Category" it says:
"Playback failed. File not found."

Under FW 1.25 at least some (not all) files were accessible through "Category"

I got 40GB on the mSD Card organised as follows:
A-D
--Artist1
----Album1
----Album2
----Album3
--Artist2
----Album1
----Album2
E-H
--Artist3
----Album1
----Album2

Through "Browse Files" I can access all files without Problem. I updated the library several times (without Card plugged in,
with card plugged in...) but it doesn`t work.

Can you give me some advice? Thx.

I like the other improvements of the firmware. Although I would like to have the "text scroll speed" even more faster than it is in FW 1.31. Keep it up :)

maybe it is cause by the old database files. Please try to deleted the old database file first. you can follow this link

Thanks for the response, but that did not help.

I thought maybe its too much data, so I tried:
1. remove the SD Card
2. left one artist folder + 3 Album subfolders on the internal memory
3. deleted the database as in your link described
4. updated the library

same result.

My files are all .mp3 with ID3 Tags.

Hi James,

I got an issue on playing songs with Shuffle.
The issue is 1st song end + 2nd song 1sec --> (shuffle) 3rd song full paly to end + 4th 1sec -->(shuffle) 5th full play to end    and so on.

the 2nd song(1sec) and 4th song(1sec) should not be there.  they should be 1st song end --> 3rd song to end --> 5th song to end and so on..
FW: 1.31
play in a folder.

Hi James,

sorry I couldn`t test it under FW 1.25 because it takes too much time to copy/refresh everytime.

Meanwhile I found a workaround:
I copied the files in bunches and refreshed the database in between.

Somewhere Fiio stated the "FAst Forward" Problem is solved now.

For me it is still not working on large files.

If i am listening to a liveset that last one or two hour, there is no skipping!

When i  push the button  only the position of the track will change in a range of ca. 30 seconds.

regardless of how long i push the forward button. sometimes after releasing the button the x3 will start at a position before the last played position.

weird? yes
a reason to enjoy life less? of course not

i would appreciate, if you (fiio) or someone else could give me a solution, a workaround or just a statement.

regards

EDIT:  with FLAC files its working, only MP3 behaves weird (havent tried AAC,ALAC and WAV)

Hi James, I would like to report a bug on X3, firmware 1.31.

When playing through the coaxial spdif, connected to external DAC (I use Yulong DA8), About the first 2 seconds of the song is skipped, X3 always started around the 3rd seconds of the song.
So if the song started immediately on the 1st second, the first 1-2 second is missing, not played.

I experienced on all FLAC files, didn't try other format.

Please fix it in the next firmware upgrade, thanks!

it is not the fault of X3, it is because your DA8 need time to detect the input signal, in fact, when X3 launched market, there was one user reported the same issue to me, but finally he found he had not set the input channels to Coaxial in in his Ontyo AV receiver and the receiver need time to

checked out the signal .

I received my 3rd unit (thank you Amazon's easy return policy). I used the Fat32 SD card formatter on the FiiO website and downloaded and installed the latest firmware 2.05.... This is a little confusing because the earlier version 1.31 has a later date than version 2.05. So which is actually the newer version?

I still have exactly the same issue as the other two units. The number of folders/files loaded/recognized on an SD card appears to be limited that can be read by the X3.

I noticed that FiiO people said they will stop responding on this forum as they are receiving too many questions.....and will respond only to direct e-mail inquiries.... HUH?

Think "Hear no evil, See no evil, Speak no evil" !

I will wait a little while to see if they actually resolve this MAJOR issue as I do actually like the player...but as a $200 8GB FLAC player it's a little steep. Buy the Sansa 32GB clip player for $31.95 and save a lot of money and it works as advertised...there are other decent units as well....

I'll keep checking back.....

where you read the notice about "  we will stop responding on this forum as they are receiving too many questions... " ?

BTW, I think the problem is not the fault of X3, and will you mind change another TF card ?

Hmm?  The only recent change to communication channels on head-fi here has been the addition of another customer service representative (me) and the addition of yet another communication channel, live Skype group chat (add my skype: joe0bloggs (with a zero in the middle)).  We aren't leaving anybody behind

Can you try this player with another SD card?  We could send you an SD card for testing if that would solve the problem--after all we already exchanged player units twice

But wouldn't it be easier for you to get another card to try out yourself?

I have tried at least 5 different cards .... 32 GB and 64 GB .... different brands.....different files .....different computers ..... different programs to format the sd  cards ........ only one major problem actually ...... limited file access over a certain amount of music/data

As stated before .... I have none of these problems with my $35 sansa clip......
