Hi fish1050 and George P (and FiiO),
I have my music organized into folders through iTunes (I know, I know, it's a pain) on a Mac. I am syncing the iTunes Media/Music folder to my microSD using Dapper.
I went into my iTunes library and tried to figure out what might have been missing to produce this problem. Almost everything had an "Artist," which is how the folders are organized, so it's not that. A lot of things were missing an "Album Artist'--actually too many, like 8,000, so it's not that.
A little over 4,000 songs were missing a genre. Add to that a couple hundred songs that are smaller than 1mb, like George P mentioned, and I'm APPROACHING the ~4,500 songs that are missing in the "All Songs" menu from the total amount displayed in "About X1"...but not quite there yet....
Since it's so hard to browse, I can't really check individual files, but I will sync my X1 later tonight with genre tags added to all my files, update the media library overnight, and report my results in the morning.
ALSO: this probably deserves its own post, but is anyone else finding that holding the up or down volume buttons on the side while the screen is dark screen actually CHANGES the song that's playing?
