FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth!
Oct 19, 2016 at 8:54 PM Post #886 of 3,121
I only have a simple car and the X1ii works fine as a "giant" thumb drive, I use the In Vehicle Mode where I start the car and the music starts after about 7 seconds. I stop the car and it powers off. That's all I need for a car stereo.

Are you able to navigate between music / folders ?  Maybe I need to think differently and perhaps switch usb mode to storage.
My only frustration is that I can do so much more with the Ipod.  Good news for you.

Hi,

I limit my SD card in the X1ii to 320 Kbps only and listen to every single song in sequence without folders or playlists. I leave the X1ii in the car and use my other DAPs for FLAC and DSD songs

Since bluetooth is not Apt-X quality on the X1 II how good does it sound over bluetooth?  Personally I could only see using bluetooth with the Fiio bluetooth remote given the limitations of the X1 II and the fact it doesn't support the highest bluetooth quality audio.

I am just using the bluetooth as of the moment and I haven't tried plugging in yet, I am waiting for my Q1 to arrive and I just wanted to do everything wired in one go, hence I am using wireless. The sound is the same as my phone (Xperia Z2) so I guess my receiver (SBH20) greatly affects the source.

  jmwreck,

'automatic connection on startup' is on. Think my problem is not waiting long enough for bluetooth to connect. It takes an extremely long time to connect. Now I have another problem.
My ALAC files play when a headphone is plugged in but when connected to bluetooth I get a message that the file is not supported and the same file that played with the headphone
plugged in will not play with bluetooth.

I am using MP3 files while playing bluetooth, I have experienced X1 II lost its connection the 2nd day I was using it, after that everything connects right after booting. I guess it takes around 5 secs to hear the music playing after booting.

We have one of these players at the office and yesterday I decided to play with it for a bit. It seems pretty flexible and given its price tag I think it's a solid budget DAP. I grabbed a few photos with some of the gear and put together a small gallery.

Is the sound quality it a step up from listening to a note3 usb out (or any android usb out) to a fiio e17k DAC?
I am assuming the note is putting out data unchanged..

You can sort of test this for yourself. I also thought the data would be unchanged, but instead I found that the sound can change depending on the app I used. HibyMusic seemed to give the best sound

Hi, karthikhulk
Is your headphone a CTIA standard headphone? Would the problem persist when you change another headphone? Maybe it is not so compatible with the X1II.

To any FiiO personnel, would you happen to know when the "rose gold" units will be available here in the US of A?  That is all I am waiting for as for some reason that color is, to my eyes, extremely classy.

Thank you.

Sorry but I can't answer that. I've never owned the E17K, only the original E7. As for Android data I can't say either as I'm an iPhone user.

Thanks for the info. I hope these non supported formats will be available soon (most interested in ALAC). The X1ii is limited in its usefullness.
