But not with Qualcomm's TWM. Why? Because buds need to synchronize with each other and this takes away some bandwidth. You can look into aptX Lossless: 1 Mbps, and only QHS-enabled devices support it.Codecs are software, you dont actually need anything special for LDAC, just a dongle with EDR support(which is practically any available on the market) so it has enough bandwidth for high bitrate codecs.
Well, the actual reason why LDAC is coming to QCC514x only now is that Sony couldn't properly implement it. They still can't, but it doesn't matter anymore. Not including certain codec with a device most probably has to do with licensing.
Yes, I actually used some random Bluetooth adapter from old laptop which I soldered USB cable to and it worked fine. But 990 kbps mode is unstable with TWM even on much better 855 phone. 909 kbps (so 44.1/88.2 kHz) works a bit better.Been using CSR8510 BT4.0 dongle($2-3) on Linux for more than 2 years now, and you get support for practically every codec.
It's only beta and probably won't be cheap. It's certainly cool, but still requires QHS-enabled Bluetooth card for TWM.And a Windows 10/11 solution got introduced few months ago, its called "Alternative a2dp driver" and you get LDAC support with it.
