Anyone else having this issue? Even with the latest firmware at the time of posting (1.0.3) I frequently have the issue where screen gestures (like swiping down from the notification shade, or swiping up from the bottom to go back to the home screen) no longer works and the only fix is to reboot the device.
Dear friend,
Are there any certain operation when this issue happen? If the problem happen again, you can send the log files to us(support@fiio.com) for check.
Extract a LOG file
For special software issues, please extract a LOG file under the root directory, unzip and copy it to the homepage. And then send it to us for analysis.
Please go to " Settings ->About device" , and continually tap “Model number", until the prompt "Have save output log to built-in storage" appears.
Then please wait for about 20 seconds, and go to player's internal storage, then send the folder "fiio_log " to us and inform us the time of the problem for further analysis.
Best regards

Hi there,

The R7 was of super interest to me. But as I mentioned, I got more or less fired by one of my employers and so had to postpone the acquisition of that device.

So in the meantime, I decided to try something with my DAP (a Fiio M11 Pro).

I simply installed Neutron (paid version) onto it.
That app allows two things :
- 1°) to use the m11 Pro as a DLNA renderer ;
- 2°) to modify sound with Parametric EQ (it retrieves profiles directly from the AutoEQ database).

I then used it as I would have used the Fiio R7.
And I must say it works splendidly...
The only things that I can think of that would change things are :
- a really demanding headphone. Power of m11 Pro may be insufficient there :frowning2:
- having sound over Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi (no waves permanently).

So now I am hesitating about the R7... even though I found a better paid job almost immediatly :wink:

Any thoughts ?

Regards.

Dear friend,

Do you mean this APP:

I tried for about 30mins but did not reproduce the issue. Are there any other setting or operation when the issue happens?

Best regards
@FiiO

Yes that is the app. When it comes to the exact temporal interruption, I could not determine exactly. In any case, later than after 30min. There are no additional applications running in the background except for the factory ones.

Today it came to a stop again, it has passed about 8h when I noticed it. The bar graph in the clock display was animated (signaling play), then when I switched from the clock display to the "desktop" the app was as shown in the picture and the play button was no longer active.

Either the app crashes or goes to sleep after time X ?

With kind regards

Dear friend,

I tested one night and finally reproduced the similar issue. We have reported to the engineer and hope they could locate the reason for this issue and solve.

Best regards

@FiiO

Is there any word on the R9? I love my R7, but I’m very keen on what the R9 (if it exists?) could provide :gs1000smile:

better DAC chips, better headphone amp, and better screen and bigger RAM/FLASH. but it is too early to release the detail of R9 right now cause the ETA is NOV.

Can anyone clarify what is meant by "delay"?
I am not experiencing any delay that I can notice....
It only applies to watching video, not listening to music. The issue people are reporting is a delay between the on-screen video and the sound for it - especially when it comes to speech.

If the R7 had an XMOS chip, it would be better able to keep the two in sync. Some FiiO devices (DAPs, usually) have one, the R7 does not.
