It sounds good on paper. It got me to buy one. Even the iPhone 7 plus through otg cable doesn't even sound close. I was thinking I'm missing a firmware update or something.

Bluetooth in the Q5 is virtually indistinguishable from wired based on my and a couple of other users impressions.Got mine in the mail today and must say that I'm disappointed in the sound quality and power output. The setup that I'm comparing it to is e17k alpen 2 with mpow bluetooth receiver and dt 770 pro 80 ohm. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I've tried all the options.
I am getting great power and running AptX bluetooth with the Q5. So....weird about the experience you are having. But that is what I'm saying, I am using a bluetooth receiver to the e17k and getting amazing sound quality and a ton of power. I just wanted to go to a single stack solution. Just wondering if any of the current q5 users ran into the same thing.
Note, the Bluetooth AptX and wired OtG are virtually indistinguishable for me on the Q5. Wireless all the way now

That is intwrintere. The 15TH with that amp module should have plenty power on tap, and the dual AK 4490s should sound arguably better than the e17k coming from the second source file. Will be looking to read any updated info
Q5 single-ended with the stock amp module is 160mw @ 32ohm vs. E17K ">200mw." So in single ended the E17K is a bit more powerful.
I'd say try balanced but the DT770 cable is fixed. If the Q5 is otherwise working well, maybe worth buying an AM5 for higher output in single-ended.
I got it on Amazon but I might check the authenticity tag when I get home

Have you done a comparison with 24/96 or higher? I can kinda imagine you thoughts, since wired and wireless are using the same DAC, as in the 4490 in the Q5Bluetooth in the Q5 is virtually indistinguishable from wired based on my and a couple of other users impressions.

Hi, I have. With AptX on the Q5, Vs a wired 24/192 connection, it's almost on par. At least there isn't enough of a difference for me to want to take a couple of rubber bands and stack.Have you done a comparison with 24/96 or higher? I can kinda imagine you thoughts, since wired and wireless are using the same DAC, as in the 4490 in the Q5
I was using it at work via iphone 7 plus bluetooth which is aac. Tried it on usb at home on the pc and it didn't sound much better. Tried it on a laptop through aptx bluetooth and the world opened up! Aptx bluetooth is the sound quality that I was looking for. Full bodied rich sound finally! Thanks guys.

@FiiO, is FiiO Music app compatible with iPad mini 4? I could not find the software in app store.
I’m not sure, it was there for iPhone 7.
When you are in the EU, just watch out where you buy it. Some resellers charge a hefty premium.

We have confirmed with the engineer that the FiiO Music app is not compatible with iPad currently.
Best regards
