So..curious, would you not want to do Bluetooth AptX to the android device instead. Less bulky....

I'm not sure about the sound quality of Bluetooth though. I remembered vaguely reading some article stated that Bluetooth audio is somewhat a compressed format (like mp3) therefore it compromises the sound quality. Unlike USB, the audio signal is not compressed. So, to me, using Bluetooth for audio seem to defeat the purpose of obtaining this great DAC.

Now the Bluetooth capabilities of the Q5 are one of the main reasons I'm getting it I've done otg with other DACs..but am interested in a non SBC Bluetooth setup.

Honestly, I've struggled with the same question myself for a while, but after a fair bit of research am comfortable with AptX which Fiio have put in. I actually changed my phone rom to one that would support this. If fiio ever release AptX HD, as a firmware, which they just couldn't do before the putting the DAC out there, I'll be very happy.

Dear friend,

Generally, dedicated DAC+AMP could sound better than the player with same DAC chip.

Those players with amplifer as well are designed for integrated function may have relative average level for each part.

thanks i went to check out and pay. they wanted pictures of my id card and pictures of my credit card as well as bank statements. is this normal ? they dont use pay pal either.
