So finally, a dedicated thread for the standalone FiiO Music Player app. I guess it's about time. It's also about time that I should address some of the issues the recent version have.

  • Gapless playback does not work as it should when playing music through an external DAC/AMP like Topping NX4 DSD and/or FiiO Q1 Mk.II. It wasn't like that in the older versions. Yes, I made sure that the gapless option setting is turned on. Gapless playback only works if you use the internal/built-in audio of your smartphone (a Xiaomi Mi A1, in my case).
  • Scrolling ticker text animation when song info is too long to show seemed to be gone in the latest version. The older versions does have that behavior.
On a positive note, it's nice to finally see that the character encoding issue is now fixed in the latest version; special characters like Ø, Ñ, etc. now display as they should and not as Chinese characters.

Hopefully they fixed some of the buffering issues which I experienced on my Android phone reading files from an external micro-SD card.

Dear friend,

We failed to reproduce the issue you mentioned, what's the model name of your mobile phone? The micro SD card in the mobile phone could not be read?

Best regards

@FiiO

I just purchased your BTR 5 and thought I would try your music app...

when I scan for music the BTR picks up my iTunes music but it won’t get my music flac files in iPhone files app... and I cannot find a way to copy that music into the app...

Please can you tell me how I get the music app to recognise my music files in my iPhone files app?

I am using the iPhone XS Max running latest iOS and my music is all flac files in a files app folder..

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.... but that’s not what I am asking...

I can use the iPhone files app... indeed I use them on my onkyo hf app....

But the problem is that your FiiO music app won’t recognise any of my music files....

Whereas all my other apps do so I can only assume the problem is with a setting on the FiiO app... but I have a suspicion you already know that...

Last time I had a problem with my M11 your response was “try rebooting it..”

I suppose I should be grateful you didn’t try that response again this time...

I would appreciate your help but I would also appreciate a relevant response...

Thanks

Dear friend,

Have your added the files to the iTune library or the FiiO Music APP? If yes, please try to rescan the media library.

Best regards

Am I correct that I can control the M9 when using the Fiio Link in the iOS Fiio Music app. Meaning I can start/stop/skip music which is locally stored on the M9, correct?
If so, is there a detailed guide available how to set this up. It is not really self explanatory.

Thank you!

Dear friend,

1. Make sure this device and your mobile phone are connected to the same WiFi network.
2. Enter the FiiO Music APP(player's)-setting-FiiO Link- three dots icon at the top right, switch to WiFi option. Then switch on the Server option. And you will see a IP address at that time.
3. Install the latest FiiO Music APP in your mobile phone.

For iOS device:
Enter the FiiO Music APP-setting-FiiO Link
4. Input the ip address in the pop up dialog.
5. FiiO Link is connected successfully!

Best regards

Deat Fiio Team,

Is it possible to use Fiio link and control the M9 via Wi-Fi without both the DAP and iPhone being connected to the same or any network?
I would like to use that function while travelling.

Dear friend,

No, Bluetooth FiiO link is not supoorted in iPhone. So you would need to use the Wiifi FiiO link instead if you are using iPhone.

Best regards
