The M9 runs on deeply customized system. The embedded FiiO Music app in M9 is customized for it. But the Android FiiO Music APP is used for Android mobile devices instead.

I understand that but when you release the app and say it is for the M series then it should work well with the M series, not just the M11 and M15. When it adds nothing but frustration for the user it does not reflect well on Fiio and its ability to create apps. Even the original embedded version of the app on the M9 did not work well and was very sluggish and buggy. Subsequent updates through firmware did not address all the issues. I was hoping this new release would make me want to go back to the Fiio Music app but it does not.

Surely you could tweak this version and slim it down to work better with the M9/M7/M6 hardware or specify it is meant for the M11 and M15 only. Unless of course you are planning on releasing updated versions of the M9 and M6 with better hardware so they run better with this version of the app.

Going forward this will be a consideration on whether I buy another Fiio DAP.

I've tried to install the new app (3.0.1 M series) on my M15. The only result i got is crashing the app, reopening, recrashing and so and so.
I well follow the instructions.
I've had to uninstall the new app back to the old one.
Till now, i have no answer from FIIO to fix this issue.

So it seems if you want to own a Fiio DAP and have it work well you need to install a 3rd party music player app. Maybe Fiio should license a good app Like Pulsar which works great on the M9 and M7 instead of trying to develop their own. I won't be using the Fiio Music App again until Fiio shows they can develop one that actually works well with their DAP's.

I eventually had an good answer from FIIO with a beta version of the App that works and is stable.
