Dear friend,

1. Make sure this device and your mobile phone are connected to the same WiFi network.
2. Enter the FiiO Music APP(player's)-setting-FiiO Link- three dots icon at the top right, switch to WiFi option. Then switch on the Server option. And you will see a IP address at that time.
3. Install the latest FiiO Music APP in your mobile phone.

For iOS device:
Enter the FiiO Music APP-setting-FiiO Link
4. Input the ip address in the pop up dialog.
5. FiiO Link is connected successfully!

Best regards
Thank you. I got FiiO link to work with M9 & iPhone.
Do you know if FiiO link will work on a non-FiiO device/dap with FiiO music installed? I am using Hiby R5 with FiiO music app. I prefer FiiO music to Hiby. It would be marvelous to get FiiO link working too.
I tried various settings without success, eg WiFi/Bluetooth, server/client. I entered IP address that’s used for M9 in R5/FiiO link client prompt but client kept toggling off automatically. Thanks

Dear friend,

Does the M9 connect to the same Wifi for Hiby R5 as well?

Best regards

Anyone has the m9 and m11? I am to decide between the two. Does the sound od the m11 justify the price? I dont care about the rest. Just the sq.
Dear user,

Thanks for your interest in our product.

You could read their comparison from:https://www.fiio.com/m11_comparisons
And due to individual preferences, you could read the professional reviews and comparisons, as well as try out by yourself.
Theoretically, the chip of M11 is better than the M9's.

Best regards

Really nice review George!
And I agree..dx120 sound better but no streaming duties.

Hi, question - it seems generally agreed that the DX120 is better in terms of sound, if one is willing to lose Bluetooth and streaming. But, if I can get an M9 for £75 less than a DX120, is that improved quality in the DX120 worth that much extra money?

In short, is it worth paying £75 more for the DX120 quality?

Thanks for your thoughts.

DX120 is better than M9 on sonics alone, more natural, more configurable, more powerful

DX120 doesn't have many of the bells and whistles M9 has tho, so M9 can do some things DX120 can't and really M9 comes off as more versatile, unless you are a microSD library, where the dual microSD slot of DX120 also comes in handy.

They are different devices made for different purposes through and through

I like the fact M9 is so incredibly stable in the firmwares :)

Hi George

Great review. Question - I could get a DX120 or an M9 on sale. The DX120 costs £75 more than the M9. In our opinion, would you say that the DX120 is £75 acoustically better than the M9?

Thanks for your thoughts.

YES Finally no restrictions to install apps with latest update. Many thanks Fiio !!!

Now i can finally EQ my favorite streaming apps with Dolby digital plus app. Unfortunately the newer Dolby Atmos. Apk is not working.

In ADB Terminal type "adb devices" to check if it's connected. You have to see a serial.

Now we have to remove original build in equalizer (has nothing to do with fiio app EQ)

Then "ADB shell" and type "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.musicfx" if succeeded you will see message. Restart MI9.

Download AsusDolby.apk
https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-4-selfie/themes/dolby-asus-zenfone-root-t3762599/amp/

Open the app and close start Spotify and choose Equalizer.

Enjoy!

@FiiO next time we can unlock bootloader and root access?

Just downloaded the new firmware

Have not had a chance to update it yet, any ideas on what the bug fixes are?

What apps are you guys most interested in installing? Not a big Android guy so not up on the latest and greatest Android apps.

Hello.

I'm having problems with Tidal and the wifi connection. While I'm using Tidal, after 5 or 6 songs my M9 disconnet from my wifi signal. Wifi drops off and I have to reboot my M9 to solve the problem. After the last update by Fiio (1.0.6), I downloaded the lastest version of Tidal from apkmirror but the issue persists. Do anyone fix this problem? I have no problems with Spotify premium.

Thanks.

I installed the new firmware,

I found now that after adding a few tracks and scanning for new tracks the Fiio music player crashed 3 times before scanning. Never had this issue before with the M9 even after other firmware updates and scanning seems slower. It still does not sort properly in alphabetical order. I do like the little target icon in the track list that lets you go directly to the song playing in the list. Much better than having to scroll to the spot every time you start the player. Does the removal of the whitelist restriction mean the end of the line and newer versions of the M6/M7 or M9 will be coming soon? It makes sense to open this up after so much time on the market if newer models are coming soon.
