1. Sometimes AirPlay pairing only after reboot
2. Sometimes WiFi connecting only after reboot
3. When using Fiio Music and lock-unlock screen - dropping to homescreen
4. Sometimes battery drain in sleep mode even if wireless turned off
5. Sometimes when reboot (I have to do it too frequently) - freezing until hard reboot (long press play+power)

THERE A R E ISSUES MF!!
Dear friend,

Did you try another wifi as well? The M9 and your ios device should use same wifi.
Remember to turn off the Bluetooth and try to stop playing the songs in order to enter sleep mode successfully.

Best regards

Sounds like a joke. No, I didn’t try another wi-fi, I have only one, but perfectly working with many other devices. Also I don’t use bluetooth very often.

I've experienced every single one of those issues at one time or another... Can someone please explain to me why tidal premium over bluetooth ldac stops after 1 song and I have to manually turn on the screen and advance to the next song.... Why won't it play the whole album through???? I'm I missing something here???
Dear friend,
You could try to update the Tidal APP to see if it helps:
http://fiio-file.fiio.net/Apps/TIDAL-2.11.4.889.11.apk
A user had a similar issue in V2.11.1 and 2.11.5 but not in 2.11.4 Tidal APP.

Best regards

@FiiO: Can you give a rough estimate when we can expect a next firmware update which addresses some of the issues mentioned through out this thread?
Thank you!

I know this thread is full of comments about the problems with the M9 - but until now I have been happy with mine.

Tonight I tried doing something I haven't done before. Previously I had always listened to the M9 via headphones...

Tonight I selected LO and linked the M9 to an auxilary line input on my Creek 50A amplifier with a 3.5mm to stereo RCA phono lead.

I then played a couple of DSD ISO albums on the M9. They played fine but I got little crackles between tracks?

Is this a known fault?

BTW If I play 16-44 flac CD rips there are no crackles between tracks.

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST - actually I tried listening to the same DSD albums with my Sennheiser HD650s from the M9 with output PO and High Gain - same crackles between tracks (so nothing to do with Line Out LO mode).

Also playing tracks that I know are High Res eg 24-96 has the LED light Purple and then other 24-96 stuff displays as Green?

Dear friend,

The new firmware will be released in next month if everything goes well. Do you have any other issue with the M9?

Best regards

Dear friend,

Will the gapless function help with the DSD playback issue?
The LED will light green when playing DSD file in FiiO Music. If your 24bit-96 music displays as green, it seems incorrect. You could share the music to us for check?

Best regards

Thank you, good news.
I am quite happy with my M9, as I do not use wireless streaming or bluetooth streaming I stick mainly to wired listening. Therefore I would be happy to see the FiiO music app updated (sorting algorithm, font problems etc.) and if replay gain could be fixed that would be great (I was in contact with your support about that.)

Sorry my mistake I meant Yellow not Green:-

Also playing tracks that I know are High Res eg 24-96 has the LED light Purple and then other 24-96 stuff displays as Yellow?

There are no problems with these 24-96 Hi Res files my Creek 50CD DAC displays that they are 24-96 and so does my Squeezebox Commander App on my tablet. But some display Purple when they are meant to be Yellow.

BTW I already have gapless switched on so that is not the solution to the crackles between DSD tracks.
