[FiiO M5] Compact and Versatile Hi-Res Music Player

Hi Fiio,

I have just bought Fiio M5 and very satisfied with it. However, it could be better if having 4 functions in the future FW updates:

1. Control Bluetooth host music player by Touch Screen. When I swipe down the music controller in Bluetooth receiver mode, I could not use the controller.
2. Ambient mode. The device has two mics, it could be great if Fiio adds ambient mode to this device.
3. Improve response time when turn on/off screens.
4. Fiio Music app could recognize M5 and could enable HWA codecs.

Thank you!
Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback.

We will report to the engineer for assessing about that.

One of the Mic is for recording and the other one is for calling.

Do you mean that the response time of turning one the screen is long? How long would your M5 take after presing the power button?

Best regards

It takes about 2 seconds. It could be better if 0.5 or 1 second.

Thank you!

Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback. Could you please provide more details so we could try to reproduce this problem? For example, the capacity, brand of the card?

Best regards

Here is a picture of the cards I have tried. It is weird sometimes as it either works first time or may take multiple power cycles to be read when it turns on. They can also be read while the device is on and by ejecting and re inserting the card.

Thanks. Sure, I use SaMSuNG 512 GB EvO PLuS U3 in FaT32, but for now it does no matter - temporarily I've returned to my S0NY NW-A55 and I'll not delve into exploring any of the M5 issues, wishing You all the best with fixing those small details :) One little problem is not the problem at all, but the escalation of the little problems, well........... I think the most annoying thing with M5 (at least for me) is the lack of cooperation with master/slave TWS (for example CReATiVe OuTLiER AiR) which causes necessity to pair them again and again, which is simply cumbersome. But hey - this is a great fun though, when every time I turn a whole set on, I'am guessing if it will connect or not this time? Haha, "connection failed" again, what was the odds??? :)

I'am sure the M5 best time is yet to come and I wish You that. For me it was a nice episode anyway.

Has anyone got m3u playlists on the SD card working? I can't figure out what the path needs to be changed to and fiio players seem to have different settings.
Dear friend,

What's the firmware version of your M5?
And you could add the files in M5 to foobar2000 first. Then save the playlist to the root directory of the M5 in m3u format.
Can you get the playlist in the M5 work at that time?

Best regards

I can hear minimum level hiss from both channels with sensitive iems.
Maybe the noise you are hearing is something else and it's software related.
Dear friend,

It may be the background noise of a player. Every player has background noise but when using sensitive iem it is much noticeable.

Best regards
