This is the response I got from Voptronics about canceling my order:

Thank you for your patience.
Please rest assured that you do not need to worry about any additional taxes or fees. If we ship your order, there will be no extra charges for you.
Currently, shipments to the United States are scheduled to be dispatched after May 5th. We need to wait for the outcome of the new tariff policy enforcement on May 2nd before making the final decision on whether to proceed with the shipment.
Thank you again for your understanding and support. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us.
Best regards,”

Glad to hear you won't get hammered on your order and that the seller isn't hanging you out to dry. I am wondering how many aliexpress sellers will be this understanding of the situation and not stick it to their customers and ship before May 2nd.

I don't know if it will actually be released or if it's just a design study, but James Chung (CEO and founder of FiiO) posted the image below with the following statement:

"A minimalist-style portable player featuring a dual-knob design for quick volume adjustment and sound style switching.

The back panel is made of northern black walnut, continuing the same design language as FiiO's best-selling FT1."

It says M21T on the back.

Some of the aliexpress sellers are showing shipping charges of 145% of the item price while some simply state they cannot ship to the US.

In the early days, I often communicated and interacted with head-fier from all over the world on head-fi, thanking everyone for giving us a lot of advice and opinions.

However, due to several serious illnesses and the increasing number of FIIO products, it has become difficult for me to interact with everyone in every thread about FIIO

products. Therefore, currently I communicate more directly with consumers and users on Weibo in China.

In recent years, I have often released some concept designs of FeiPao. Most of these concept design products will not enter the real development process. However, many

concept products will eventually become mass production products and be pushed to the market.

The above player is also a concept design product, mainly aiming to create a relatively simple and minimalist player. There are no plans for mass production.

FiiO Stay updated on FiiO at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

Another conceptual design posted by James Chung. Below is a brief text describing the DAP idea and the image itself.

"The concept player I posted the day before yesterday has been updated again. The model is simply called MP3, following a retro style. The UI uses a nostalgic vintage theme, the aluminum alloy body has been changed to a champagne gold color, and the back cover is now made of solid fire maple wood.

The display is a 4-inch IPS screen, with R2R decoding, and it features 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs. The output power is 300mW, enough to drive all earbuds. It uses a pure sound system and does not support WiFi.

In short, inside and out, it’s simple and clean."

Pure music player with few sound styles based on r2r like on the second screenshot is a very good idea. In my country there’s still existing a relatively big fan community of old Hifiman HM 601 DAP built on TDA 1543.

Any information or official confirmation about the product launch in Europe? I want to buy it on the release day and prefer to do so at my usual local store (which still doesn’t have any information about it yet).
