Fabulous. Shame cannot use the AK chips ( I prefer their sound signature).

But this is very promising! And may save on needing a dedicated amp if it provides enough oomph to drive certain TOTL but not high oomph cans well.
I'm guessing power will be similar to the portable desktop [whoa] Monoprice Monolith dac-amp.

A more interesting match up would be the iBasso DX220 MAX vs Astell&Kern Kann Alpha vs Fiio M17.

I think competitors would be Shanling M8, Hiby R8, iBasso DX300 and A&K SE200 and if Cayin will come with a "new N6ii"

The Fiio M17 would be in a different class becuase it will have enough juice to drive full sized headphones, therefore it should compete with devices advertised to do the same.

Agreed. I am thinking to change my Kann alpha for M17. And m8, se200 can't be used for full-size planar headphones.
