That's a nice looking USB cable, with Ferrite cores on both ends too, very nice. Are you playing through UAPP on the M15 using the D90 MQA as the DAC? I haven't tried that yet myself, although I have thought about doing it someday.

I use the M15 / D90 MQA each connected to my PC and my PC runs the "player" software - Tidal, Amazon HD, youtube, PowerDVD, etc and the M15 is put in USB DAC mode - so I don't see the Android ecosystem while in USB DAC mode.

On your D90 MQA display I see it is detecting 192khz and MQA source, so that's good.

The distortions might be settings you have default in UAPP, you should check the USB settings, set Bit Perfect Mode to On or "When possible", I have mine set to "When possible", Up Sample off (at least for now), Limit Sample Rate "no limit",

Sorry, gotta go, will check back later and finish - basically check those settings and maybe limit sample rate a bit at first - I don't think you need an OTG cable as the D90 MQA is registering sample rate and detecting MQA.

I may try it myself later as I have both the M15 and D90 MQA - and a cable, but I'll have to take things apart to try it :)
Distortions also happen when using the fiio app with pure music mode on.. i think its the cable.. problem is, i cant use the stock fiio cable because the d90's input is usb B..

There's a zillion USB cables out there, and USB-A -> USB-C adapters, you need to stock up :)

FiiO App also has settings...as does M15 settings

Like I said I haven't tried it yet myself, but it should work - perhaps stroll over to talk with John Yang from Topping and see what he suggests - post your setup photo and background and @JohnYang1997 over here:

I'll try to get around to trying M15 Android App using D90 MQA as DAC out this week / weekend as time permits.

If you have a headphone AMP you could use the LO from the M15 to pipe audio in to the AMP and switch back and forth via the input switch, using the M15 DAC for full MQA unfolding.

I use my M15 in Android mode with UAPP with MQA enabled and stream Tidal through UAPP with full unfolding.

I plug my headphones in to the M15 to use the "over-ear headphone" mode - for some headphones / material I prefer the M15in "over-ear headphone" mode to using the D90 MQA to do the unfolding + drive my headphones with the A90.

I guess I could plug in my M15 LO into the A90 through RCA this week / weekend too... :)

Thanks but i intend to use my D90 as DAC when im in my desk.. just need to find the right cables. Did some digging, and some say a otg cable might now work. The soldering must be for data alone, non otg. Its just in my place there's no DIYer of data cables. I must try my luck online..

I am also looking to buy m15 in India. As per Fiio India , it will be available around mid November. It is out of stock since one month. Looks like we have to wait long.

Hang in there... anticipation makes the reveal more exciting.

It still might be in the settings somewhere, here's an example of what I am thinking of trying when I get around to it:

No Native DSD Only (DSD to PCM) White Noise
http://www.extreamsd.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=998

Yes, I know this isn't it specifically, but it's possible there is some "non-bit perfect-ness" involved causing sync to be lost and noise to be had.

Check out those threads and forums for more input as to what tuning causes what effects. Example, Maybe "limit sample rate to 96k" might help?

I hope you figure it out before I have to.
