Dear friend,
Please check whether your FiiO Control app is the 1.2.0 version? The FW5 should be V1.26 firmware version.
Please enable the PEQ in the 'Lab Features' first. Then go to Equalizer-turn on User EQ-long press the frequency bar to enable PEQ feature.
I also took a small video for you:

Best regards

And now create any frequencies, for example: 60, 220, 1151, set any gain and Q, then turn on the music and listen, then exit the application and go back, you will hear that your preset has reset, it will also become smooth on the graph. at least that's what I have on Android. the latest firmware is 1.26, please fix this insanity.

1. Both the app and the firmware are already up to date.
2. The problem is nothing to do with accessing the PEQ or changing them. The problem is after a while my PEQ setting resets itself which makes it extremely annoying as i have to manually enter them again

Dear friend,

1. Please reset the FW5 first after updating the firmware. (Hold the buttons with dot at the same time for about 8s).
2. Then connect the FW5 to device A. After connecting successfully, turn off the Bluetooth in device A and FW5 will enter pairing mode again.
3. Connect the FW5 to device B.
4. Turn on the Bluetooth in device A again and the FW5 will reconnect to device A.
5. Now the FW5 is connecting to device A and B at the same time.

Best regards
That does not for work for me on PC+Android and is the dumbest way of doing it I have ever seen, most have a button in the App to do so.

I would also like to ask a question about the parametric equalizer.
What filter does this equalizer work with? Peak? Why is there no filter selection for each band?
Dear friend,

You could choose the lowpass filter from the audio page instead. Filter selection for each band is not supported currently.

Best regards

Thanks for the reply. I would like to see a filter for each band in the future, or at least know that the standard filter is used by peak, because it is one of the most popular and easier to work with.

I'm not having any such problems with my unit. They are responding really well to eq (More bass!). The EQ holds in the buds but when I go into the app and look at the eq page it looks as if it has been reset. Sound quality doesn't change though, when I reselect the custom eq the graph changes to the last save. Up against the ZE8000 these are holding their own, better low end and more clarity. Other differences come down to signature so no fair comparing. The EQ pf the Final is almost useless though and hardly changes a thing, on the Fiio it works a charm.

Since they've actually implemented the EQ feature, might as well share some of our custom profiles to test them out, what do you think?

I'm really no good at EQ. But this is what I came up with just playing around.

Added some thickness and depth to the bass, a bit more thump which filled some of the soundstage in as well making some of the mids sound a little thicker. Brought down the treble ever so slightly as some harshness was being picked up, maybe could have done more but it was a new song by the time I got to it and this seemed to work.

As I said I'm no good with eq so interested in other peoples as well.

Oh also I listen mostly to electronic music, Goa Trance specifically. Very busy music but the kickdrum isn't always that important, the mids and highs are where the melody lies. Normally not a lot of sub-bass going on.

To my own ears, the measurements from fiio are more like the truth. I made a preset for myself thanks to squig.link based on data from fiio and from @o0genesis0o. Link to my data https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=1059779&view=findpost&p=119893237 This is all done through the poweramp eq program, it is impossible to do it through fiio control due to an error I mentioned recently: all values fly to 0, as well as sound shadowing, the preset works for a certain time and that's it. I hope fiio heard me and will fix the bug so that I can fully use their parametric equalizer.

Thank you! I've AutoEQ to Harman 2019v2, from 30 to 5000 (not messing with the treble right now, just testing waters). It produced a slight stronger and less muddy bass. Quite an improvement on an already good IEM. For reference, the "Harman" preset already included in the EQ, was really bad, treble all over the place.

EDIT: If you decide to try it, remember to pre-amp with -3.6 (which is the opposite value of the highest "boost" in dB used in the profile)

Np, just make sure you check the app regularly cause for some reason when using the app sometimes the peq you made resets. I wish i could just import a file so even if it resets i can easily fix it.
